Just Finished Goblet of Fire (book) for the first time

Wow! I know this was a big book but they really had to leave out a ton of details. I mean I'm rewatching the movie (it's playing in the background) and for the most part, they kept things the same as the book but EXTREMELY condensed...they had to really remove a lot to cram into a 2.5 hour movie. I wish we got Winky! She was a HUGE part of the plot. This makes me even more excited to see the show now. We probably won't get this book until 2031-2032 timeframe so it's going to be awhile. But the intro of the movie actually pissed me off because it's like wham bam thank you ma'am and I'm like holy shit what? LOL. I also want more of
- the Quidditch World Cup
- More Rita Skeeker
- Dobby

- More exploration of the 3rd task

Also, as I begin to read the books for the first time (don't judge me LOL)...while I LOVE the actor who plays Albus Dumbledore...I feel like in the books, he is more...whimsical and light hearted. The movies made him very serious...or at least the actor made the decision to treat him as such.

What are you looking forward to seeing in the show that the movie didn't get to cover?

Why does Demi completely ignore DWTD...TAOSO?

I noticed she never sings any of the songs. She will talk about HF and even jokingly saying "Justice for HF" and then sing songs from all of her other eras but she pays that album DUST...is it because of the time she was in you think? Max and the engagement, California Sober and ending with another stint in rehab?

Denver has the outdoors, but I’m missing diversity. Where should I move next?

Mid-30s single straight Black dude trying to figure out my next move on the West Coast. Is San Francisco the answer, or is there another city I should seriously consider?

I currently live in Denver and honestly love a lot about it... access to nature, mountains, hiking, active lifestyle, decent music scene, etc. But the biggest thing missing for me is diversity. I want to live somewhere that feels more culturally alive and where I don’t constantly feel like one of the only Black people in the room.

Things I care about:

  • Diversity / strong Black community or at least multicultural
  • Access to nature, hiking, mountains, outdoors
  • Real city energy (walkability, restaurants, events, nightlife)
  • EDM/music scene
  • Active/social people
  • Good dating scene for someone in their 30s
  • Preferably decent weather

San Francisco and Oakland keeps coming up because it seems like it checks a lot of boxes, but I also hear mixed things about dating, cost, and overall vibe lately.

Other places I’ve considered:

  • Los Angeles
  • San Diego
  • Portland
  • Maybe Chicago (not West Coast obviously, but keeps getting recommended to me)

For people who’ve lived in these cities — especially other Black professionals — where did you feel happiest/best quality of life balance?

Curious what I might be overlooking.

Holy back pain - 2 months in and woke up with the worst back pain I've ever had. Any remedies?

I know that joint pain and lower back pain is a common side effect. Well I woke up today with my lower back feeling extremely sore. I thought at first - ok it's the side effect. I'll get through it. But we are half way through the day and I can barely stand for an extended period of time. I am starting to worry because I have to work tomorrow where I will be on my feet for 3+ hours. What are some remedies? I read to drink more water. I will admit I've been doing less than I usually have and I can do better. Any other tips? OTC dr*gs? Thanks!

▲ 14 r/Denver

I’ve been going to 24 Hour Fitness on Colorado Blvd, and I feel like I’ve been getting sick way too often lately. I looked through the reviews and saw a lot of people mentioning how dirty and poorly maintained the gym is, so now I’m wondering if that might actually be part of the issue.

Does anyone have recommendations for gyms in Denver that are actually clean and well maintained? Cleanliness is probably my biggest priority at this point.

hiii - this is awkward but I am going through a divorce as wedding season is getting started. I'm already finding it hard to show up for couples and love when I am walking away from mine. Has anyone gone through this? How did you make it through?

So many tours being cancelled because of low ticket sales!!! And here she is, filling up arenas!!! I also believe her tickets are more reasonably priced than a lot of artists. What are your thoughts?

Hi! I see several posts about relapse and it seems to be teenagers or early 20 something year olds. I'm taking a poll if anyone that started taking accutane in their 30s relapse? I just started, male, 33 years old. I have had body acne for over a decade so I'm hoping to get this under control at last. Anyway, the influx of relapse posts has already made me worried. Curious to see if the stats are different...thanks!

Hey! I have been on accutane for over 1 month now. I noticed that my chest feels slightly tight and its related to breathing issues. I live in Colorado, an already dry climate. I talked to a doctor before going on accutane and he mentioned that it gave him asthma. I am not sure if I am in my head or if I am truly feeling like I need to go to the doctor. It sort of feels like an anxiety attack but I can manage my breathes enough to get out of it. Yesterday during a workout class, I couldn't go as hard as I usually could because I felt so out of breath.

I am giving you permission that it's ok to pause in between sets. Unless you are in a hurry and are trying to crank out a workout...it's ok to pause, get water, take a breath and then hit play again.

Just thought I'd share <3

I am a wedding photographer who was recently prescribed accutane. I am on week 5 and entering my 2nd month on the pill. My career requires me to be on my feet for 8-10 hours a day, dress professionally and take photos. I rarely drink water on the days I photograph weddings because I'm so busy and then end up with a hangover feeling the next day due to lack of water. I cannot do that but since on the pill, I DEFINITELY cannot do that. In addition, I will be outside in the summer sun and I'm so anxious and nervous. I wan to know if anyone else works outside and has any tips? or tips in general?

Seeing the fans show up. Having sold out shows. I think she's gained her confidence back. Not that she lost it but its even better than ever. She's in love. She's feeling herself. She's having fun. ITS NOT THAT DEEP. She deserves to have mindless pop music and you can tell she is having a blast!
