Other games like Resident Evil?

Other games like Resident Evil?

I recently found out about 'Post Trauma' and it gives old school resident evil vibes with the fixed camera angle. Thought I'd share my discovery here.

Let me know your picks for games similar to RE!

I have only played the "modern" installments which are RE 2 & 3, Village and Biohazard.

Out of these I loved RE2 the most, the characters in it felt so alive and real, juxtaposed with this "B action movie" type of story created something truly unique and lovable. I don't remember his name, but I loved the Mad scientist character, his design was really good, as he slowly progressed into more and more grotesque forms.

RE3 felt like a letdown, the characters fell flat for me. Jill was just an okay protagonist. I did enjoy the game but some parts felt like a rehash of RE2. Nemesis could have been more intimidating.

Biohazard was decisive for me, there were parts that I loved like the Jack Baker section in the beginning, and Lucas's part. The Marguerite part was okay I guess. I hated the Mia part in the Shipwreck, it was such a slog to get through.

Village felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be, they had something special with the Dimitrescu Caste, but then they fumbled by making it the first quarter of the game. The remaining bosses were so lackluster - don't get me started on the fish dude lmao, they could have done so much with the doll boss, that whole section felt like playing a horror game, very silent hill-esque, though I wish it were longer and more difficult. Heisenberg wasn't threatening at all, dude just seemed like a nutcase. Miranda's design was good but she wasn't really a memorable final boss.

Overall, I like the RE games. As gross as they might get, they manage to feel really cozy at the same time. However, they're a bit repetitive with the bosses, I feel like every game ends with a grotesque creature with multiple eyes that we need to pop. Some variation in the boss fights would make these games much more enjoyable.

Would love to hear you guys's thoughts on my experience and what ya'll recommend I play next.

I'm 21M and have been suffering from a mental illness for the past 5 years. This illness destroyed my academic career completely from 11th grade to my current 3rd year of college. But now, I have regained control over my mind after seeing a psychiatrist and taking proper prescription drugs.

After my horrific 12th board results, I took a BBA course since that's all I could get. Right now I'm in 3rd year and it's about to end. I now have the option to either continue my degree for another year to get a "BBA (Hons.)" degree or exit right now with just a "BBA" degree.

A couple of my college acquaintances have said that they'll do an MBA after BBA. I'm down to do it too, but my family cannot afford the fees. Also, we cannot take a loan since it violates our religious boundaries (long story, won't get into it).

I'm interested in working as a "Business Analyst," but I'm doubtful that any company would hire me upon seeing my lackluster academics. I had started treatment for my illness in January of this year, and only since then have I been able to properly dedicate myself to learning job skills.

It's clear that I won't get hired with just 4 months of skill acquisition, and I'm afraid that even if I do get called in for an interview, the unemployment period between the end of my degree and the interview would serve as grounds for them rejecting me.

Therefore, here's the plan that I've come up with: I'll extend my degree into a 4th year just so that my resume wouldn't reveal that unemployment period. I think in a year, I could gain enough skills to land a low-level corporate job (hopefully as a Business Analyst). I'm fine with even 15k a month since no one financially depends on me, at least not right now.

Here's a bit about myself to help inform your advice further. I'm a naturally creative person and have been making art since I was 6. I consider myself an intermediate digital artist. I also enjoy coding, writing, and editing long articles.

If I had it my way, I'd completely ditch the corporate world for creative work. I'd start doing art commissions, then move up to selling 3D models, and then enter the game dev route with my first indie game.

Any and all advice is welcome. Thank you for reading.
