Hellboy (2019 Reboot)

If you’re going in expecting something fun & witty like the earlier Ron Perlman movies, then you will be seriously disappointed. This movie truly tries to stand out by including an R-Rating, allowing it to feature more harsh language & gore. However, this benefit isn’t taken advantage of & often just becomes sidelined as people focus on the movie’s terrible CGI & nonsensical narrative. While I do think David Harbour was a great pick to take over the role from Perlman, he really isn’t given a whole lot to work with and as a result pretty much is forced to act like a teenager throughout the movie. All in all, this movie is a very mixed bag. It’s far from good, but if you’re in the mood for a nonsensical unintentional action comedy to laugh at with friends - this movie honestly isn’t a bad place to start.

South Park: Bigger, Louder & Uncut (1999)

While the humor may be a stretch to far for some people, its comedy gold when it hits right. For anyone not already familiar with the South Park humor- this movie is raunchy, over the top, loud & very in your face with pretty much everything (in the best way possible). One thing I wasn’t expecting going into this movie that I found myself feeling pleasantly surprised at was the fact that this movie doubles both as a comedy & a musical. Very fun & creative, classic South Park fans & new viewers willing to have fun with the offensive humor will find tons to love with this movie.

Which Was Worse? JAWS 3D (1983) OR JAWS: The Revenge (1987)

I know both these movies are pretty infamous in their own ways but I’m genuinely curious what people think when they place these side by side. Both feature a wide range of insane creative decisions, laughable VFX, terrible writing and laughable moments from start to finish. But the funniest part is that half the time the movies don’t even seem to realize just how off course they truly are. Making the experience all the more hilarious. With that said however, these movies are ton of fun especially if you’re in the mood for a campy classic trash fest. Pretty crazy we went from the masterpiece of JAWS, to the okay experience of JAWS 2, to whatever these were supposed to be. But oh boy are they fun! What are your thoughts?

Hot Rod (2007)

Over the top, self aware, bold & full of a lot of heart- Hot Rod is a criminally underrated comedy movie. Starring a solid cast whose chemistry perfectly launches the movie forward. Admittedly this movie can be pretty childish at times but personally I think that truly is part of its appeal. Would highly recommend if you’re a fan of comedy films.

Which Anchorman Movie Was Better?

These movies are comedy gold & an absolute blast! Would highly recommend both. But between the 2, which one did you enjoy more?

- Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
- Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013)

BROTHERS (2024) - An Amazon Original

Starring a star studded A-List cast including Peter Dinklage, Josh Brolin & Brendan Fraser (among others) all whom shine in their own way with what they’ve each been given. With that being said however, they aren’t given a whole ton. Packed start to finish with questionable creative decisions, unlikable characters (for the most part) & highly predictable plot points. This film also struggles to decide between being an all out comedy OR a profound family drama, ironically falling flat on both sides which leaves us with a unique (but occasionally fun) mess of a movie. And don’t get me started on the Orangutan in this movie, if you’ve seen it you’ll know what I’m talking about. Does anyone actually remember this one? If you have seen it, what did you think?

Name The Record

For this album I was thinking something along the lines of “System of Confusion” OR “Civilized Bastard”. What would you name it?

LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers (2010)

Does anyone remember this one? I remember watching this movie a ton on DVD as a kid. It’s pretty childish sure but there’s still a ton of fun. It was the first ever full length “LEGO Movie” but was released straight to DVD. The more widely known LEGO Movie wouldn’t come out until 4 years after this movies release. Anyone remember this? Let me know.

Talk about a major downgrade! Following up the action classic (SPEED), Speed 2 switches gears and decides to take place on one of the slowest vehicles known to man, not to mention one that has very little steaks involved. This movie is ridiculous and if you’re a fan of the original, may not be a bad idea to skip this one. However, if you can embrace the flaws and switch off your brain, this movie can provide a pretty solid number of laughs.
