I’m in the ABSN and am trying to figure out how much to borrow for my loans. Does anyone know if the final semester of the absn is cheaper than the other semesters since we technically have one class? I can’t see the fall invoice yet, but i need to apply so i can pay for summer. thanks

I moved across the country for a 16-month nursing program. I met my roommate online since we were in the same cohort. Because the program is 16 months and our lease is 12, we explicitly agreed to sign for a year and then extend for the final 4 months until we graduate in December. That was the whole point of finding a roommate in my same program. Now that the lease is about to end in August, she’s completely flipped and says shes not extending the lease of our 2 bedroom because her senior practicum (4 days a week, for part of our final fall semester) commute would be about an hour driving or 2 hours on the metro. She does not have a car, but she does have an unlimited metro pass, and many students carpool. I understand commutes can be annoying, but I too have to commute an hour + for clinical. This leaves me in a really difficult position. I only need housing for the last 4 months of my program before I move back home across the country, but now I have to find a place to live for only 4 months, move all my furniture, and deal with all of this during finals and clinicals. We are not on bad terms. We are respectful and clean. I just think it is really inconsiderate to bail on such a commitment like this. I feel frustrated and used as id been a supportive roommate by driving her to school, picking her up, and getting her groceries constantly. this is such a burden, both emotionally and financially and I don’t know what to do.
