How many IT certifications are there?

where is a good source to learn more about them as a whole?

which ones would be good for trying to get into a cyber security career?

what does each certification mean?

I know that certifications are necessary for IT, but that’s it. I don’t know what each one means, how many there are, or which ones are for which careers. I don’t know what ones I need for cyber security, if I take the classes or courses for them all at once, or if it’s something that I do one after another, or if it’s personal preference. I know jack.

I’ve been working as a bagger since April 20, 2024, and I’m now moving into grocery. Some parts are tricky and have to be done a very specific way, but overall it’s not too hard. I know I’ll improve over time, especially with speed when it comes to leveling and stocking.

The two things I want to get better at as quickly as possible are working truck and downstacking dairy.

With truck, unloading itself isn’t too bad, but I struggle with steering pallet jacks into the right spots when there’s a pallet on them. If the pallet is heavy, I sometimes can barely move it off the truck without help. The other day, I was trying to help unload, and I ended up pulling myself toward the pallet instead of moving it. I had to get the driver to help me pull it off. Once I got it moving, I had an easier time steering it through the back, until I had to position it next to another pallet in the freezer, where I had my brother tell me when to turn and where to position it.

The other issue is downstacking milk. I’ve only done it with two crate stacks, not full pallets, and I needed help from my brother (who has been in grocery for about two years). I don’t feel confident doing it on my own and worry about messing up the product. I don’t want to have to ask someone to stand there and watch me just to make sure I don’t mess anything up, but I also don’t feel comfortable trying it completely on my own, especially since I’ve had it explained to me multiple times and still struggle with it.

I want to improve at both of these as fast as possible. When I’m slow on truck, I feel like I’m in the way because someone has to guide me on where to position pallets. And with milk, I don’t feel comfortable downstacking without help.

I don’t mind asking questions, but I also don’t want to annoy my coworkers or be the person who can’t position pallets or handle dairy correctly. I just want to be able to do my job correctly, because I’d go insane if I felt like I was the bad coworker, especially since I was good in customer service, even if it was just bagging.

Sorry for the yap fest, but I felt like I needed to add all the details. I’ve been doing grocery shifts for a few weeks now, and just haven’t transferred fully, but I’ve only just started these new responsibilities recently, unloading truck started last Friday, and downstacking dairy last Saturday.
