Local legend

I know we all have these. 8 was talking to some Gen Zers who are part of my team and I was talking about this country road outside my hometown where if you went there at midnight and flashed your headlights 5 times, a school bus would appear down the road heading right for you and disappear just before it hit you. They of course looked at me like I was nuts. But I know I'm not alone.

Buried family stories

Out of the blue a few months ago, my mom just said "did you ever notice that your dad's mom didn't look like her siblings?". Where did that come from? But she's right. Then she opens up a little about some 1930s unmentionables on both sides of the family.

Anybody else get something like that right out of the blue?

I've been back to my small midwest hometown more recently than I have in the last 20 years and things felt...off. As I thought about it more, I think things always felt off, which is why I left.

Is this a me thing of did anyone ever feel like your small town was hiding something? What made you feel that way? I think it was/is the ever-present abandoned factories for me.

Wondering what formats people.like their analog horror in. I'm partial to audio and print, but cinema has an aesthetic that feeds me sometimes but can pull me out if it has a continuity break or something.

How do you find content?

Question for the actual play lovers...

How do you find new content to consume? I kind of like the adventure of poking around without influence but I know others go right for recommendations. Just curious.

I'm a writer/producer and I'm curious what cosmic horror fans prefer as their source for content. Personally I like audio, with print a class second. I think the theater of the mind is best suited for it. Thoughts?

Echoes under Ashwood (Acast host, Spotify, Apple, etc) is a collaborative storytelling podcast about 5 former best friends who drifted apart because the 6th friend disappeared just before graduation in 1990. Now in their 50's, they are called back to their dead-end Ohio town for a Will reading of that long lost friend. Awkward reunions, unresolved childhood traumas, all balanced by Gen X snark while existential dread lurks beneath.

Hello fellow cosmic horror fans. I'm a lifelong fan of Lovecraft, Derlith (I live in his home town) and was inspired to create an audio drama about a group of 50 something Gen Xers and former best friends returning to their dead end home town. Things begin to shift for them pretty quickly.

I'd love some feedback. The show can be found on our website www.roleforsanity.com, or directly on Acast or other podcast host.
