I just got the Nova Pro Omnis and have them connected to my Mac. I'm able to adjust the volume from the dial on the headset. However, I can't change it using any of these techniques:

  • Volume keys on my MacBook Pro
  • Volume dial on my Logitech keyboard
  • Volume dial on my Elgato Stream Deck+
  • Volume Slider in the Mac control center

Does anyone know of a workaround?

I'm thinking of getting a Stream Deck+, and I'm wondering if it will let me do all of the things listed below.

Windows Gaming:

  • Display FPS, GPU temp, and CPU temp
  • Easily switch audio output devices
  • Adjust volume level
  • Sleep the computer
  • Launch my favorite games

Mac:

  • Adjust volume level
  • Adjust brightness of my LG 39GX950B monitor
  • Launch my favorite apps
  • Control the Xcode debugger (stop, run, step over, etc.)

Also, I would be using this with a USB switch in order to share the Stream Deck with both of my computers. Do you think switching between the two computers would be a problem for it?

I recently got the LG 39GX950B, and I assumed I wouldn't be able to find a compatible KVM switch. To the best of my knowledge there aren't any DisplayPort 2.1 KVM switches yet.

However, just for a test, I connected the monitor to my existing CableMatters DisplayPort 1.4 KVM, and it works! I've been using it all day, and so far there are no issues. I'm kinda shocked!

Here is the hardware & software involved:

Windows Gaming Machine:

  • RTX 5090
  • Connected to the KVM using a high quality 10ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable rated for 8K at 60Hz.
  • Games are running at 5120 x 2160.
  • HDR and G-Sync are enabled.
  • Monitor is running at 165Hz.
  • (I didn't try the dual-mode settings for lower resolutions running faster than 165Hz.)

Mac Productivity Machine:

  • 16" MacBook Pro M4 Max.
  • Connected to a CalDigit TS5+ Thunderbolt Dock.
  • The dock is connected to the KVM using the DisplayPort 1.4 cable that came with the KVM.
  • The Mac supports 5120 x 2160 with HDR at 165Hz.
  • However, I'm running at a scaled resolution of 3840 x 1620 which doesn't support HDR. (The lack of HDR at this resolution is not the fault of the KVM. It's a Mac limitation.)

KVM Switch:

Pleasant Surprises:

  • I didn't expect this to work at full resolution with HDR and G-Sync, but it does!
  • I was worried that the monitor would get confused, and not remember the settings for each computer. However, it seems to know that it's connected to separate computers. For example, the monitor can use different gaming modes, pictures settings, and brightness settings for each computer. It remembers the setting when you switch back and forth.

Anyway, if you're looking for a KVM that works with the LG 39GX950B, try my setup above! I'm thinking this setup might work for any 5K2K monitor up to 165Hz.
