Selling my Alienware AW3423DWF 34” QD-OLED ultrawide monitor.

Local is Coachella Valley / Palm Springs area, CA 92253. Strongly prefer local, but I will consider shipping if buyer covers shipping + insurance.

Price: $420 local OBO.

Reason for selling: I love it for gaming/media, but I’m switching back to a matte IPS monitor for work/text use.

I’m looking for some advice from anyone who may have gone through something similar.

I’ve been using my Alienware AW3423DWF for around 7 months. For gaming and media, I genuinely love it; blacks are incredible, motion is great, overall picture quality is amazing.

The issue is desktop/work use.

I’ve been having eye fatigue and trouble focusing when reading text, coding, browsing websites, etc. I find myself moving reading-heavy tasks over to my secondary monitor (Gigabyte M27Q-X IPS), which feels much easier on my eyes.

I’m starting to think the glossy coating/reflections, subpixel layout/text rendering, or just QD-OLED as a desktop panel may not have been the best fit for me personally.

Now I’m kind of stuck on what to do:

  1. What’s the best way to move a monitor like this (sell locally, ship, trade, etc.)?
  2. If you moved away from OLED, what did you replace it with? IPS panels seem...minimal right now
  3. Are there any good mainstream 34” or 38" ultrawide IPS options left, or is the market basically VA/OLED now?

Would appreciate any suggestions / experiences.
