Just got my cable renewal notice. $185 a month just to watch my local team play?

I’m honestly so over these prices. Half the channels are shopping networks I never watch, and they still have the nerve to charge extra for the sports package. I finally decided to look into alternatives today because this is just highway robbery. Has anyone else actually successfully cut the cord in 2026 without losing their local sports?

Is the "Subscription Tax" killing the small freelancer? Looking for a better way to handle my books

As we're getting deeper into the year, I’ve been looking at my overhead. It feels like every accounting tool has switched to a monthly "rent" model that just keeps increasing.

I actually started a side project called DeskPlusPro specifically to help find permanent/one-time license options for things like QuickBooks Desktop. I’m tired of seeing $600+ a year disappear just to keep my records straight.

To the CPAs and tax pros here: Do you still suggest the one-time license versions for your smaller clients? Or has the "Cloud" become a requirement for you to do your job efficiently? I’m trying to make sure I’m providing the right versions on my site that actually help both the owner and the accountant.

(If anyone is looking to dodge the monthly fees, I’ve got the link to my project in my bio—would love to hear if this is a tool the tax community actually finds useful!)

Why is the "Subscription Model" winning? Trying to build an alternative for small business owners.

I’ve spent the last few months talking to local business owners, and the #1 complaint is "subscription fatigue." Between CRM, accounting, and hosting, most startups are bleeding $500/month before they even make a sale.

It actually led me to start DeskPlusPro. I wanted to create a hub where entrepreneurs can get the heavy-hitting tools they need (like QuickBooks) without the recurring monthly "tax" on their growth.

My question to the founders here: At what stage of your business did you stop caring about the monthly cost and start valuing the "Cloud" features more? I’m trying to figure out if the perpetual license model is still what the community wants, or if I should pivot my focus.

(Not here to spam, but if you’re looking to cut your overhead, I’ve got my project link in my bio—would honestly love some feedback on the pricing/user experience!)

Finally got the Manga Luffy back from Beckett! Those subgrades though... 😭✨

Finally got the Manga Luffy back from Beckett! Those subgrades though... 😭✨

Just got my OP-09 Emperors in the New World Manga Luffy back from BGS. I was shaking checking the grades—got a Gem Mint 9.5 with a Pristine 10 on the corners! >

Honestly, seeing the manga panels in the background with the gold label is just perfection. As much as I want to keep this as the crown jewel of my collection, I’m actually downsizing for a move soon.

For those who collect Manga Rares, do you prefer the BGS gold label or the PSA look? I feel like the BGS slab just feels more "premium" for a card this big.

Is it finally time to let the "Great Journey" end? Hardest decision of my life. 😭

Is it finally time to let the "Great Journey" end? Hardest decision of my life. 😭

I’ve been building this Halo collection since the 2007 McFarlane days. It’s about 95% complete with a mix of the classic Halo 3 era and the newer Jazwares Spartan Collection.

I’m currently downsizing for a big move, so I’m looking for a new home for the whole lot. I really want these to stay together as a set rather than being split up by a reseller.

Does anyone else find it impossible to part with their McFarlane Elites? The paint detail on those is still unmatched compared to modern figures.
