My partner and I have been seriously considering adoption, but honestly, we don’t really know where to begin or how the process works in India. We would love to adopt a baby around 3–4 months old and are trying to understand the right and legal way to go ahead with it.

If anyone here has gone through the adoption process, or has experience with agencies/orphanages, we’d really appreciate your guidance. How did you start? What was the process like? Any recommendations, advice, or things we should be aware of would genuinely help.

So I have a friend whom I get along with, but I don’t fully connect with on certain things. She is extremely particular about what she considers “hygienic” and “unhygienic,” but sometimes it feels inconsistent to me. For example, roadside cut fruits like mangoes are unhygienic for her, but touching escalators or public surfaces in the metro doesn’t seem to bother her.

At times, I also feel she comes across as a bit pretentious. One thing that genuinely bothers me is how she treats people she considers less privileged like shopkeepers, guards, waiters, or service staff. I’ve noticed a lack of basic respect or empathy there.Recently, we went out for lunch and she felt the food wasn’t cooked properly. To me, it was average at best — not great, but not terrible enough to completely reject after paying a premium price for it. However, she got extremely rude with the waiter and spoke to him very harshly. That didn’t sit right with me.

Sometimes I feel she seeks validation or carries this need to constantly project strength or superiority. She often says she “speaks up” and is “not submissive,” but personally I feel there’s a difference between being assertive and unnecessarily dominating or yelling at people. Being loud or intimidating doesn’t automatically make someone strong.
What also stays at the back of my mind is this if someone’s respect for others changes based on status, money, or position, then what happens the day life changes for me? Right now she knows I work, earn well, and live comfortably. But seeing this side of her sometimes makes me wonder whether the respect would remain if circumstances changed.
That said, apart from these things, she is also a caring friend in many ways. Which is why this feels confusing.

Planning to build a saree brand but honestly quite confused about the execution and the way forward.

Should we focus on manufacturing and supplying to retailers to build a stable business first, or should we directly focus on building a consumer-facing brand?

The primary goal is definitely to build a brand, but we’re unsure whether the right approach is D2C, retail distribution, or a mix of both. Also, we are not looking at being resellers the idea is to design and create our own sarees, similar to a few modern saree labels in the market.

Another important factor is that we’ll be building this alongside our full-time jobs, so bandwidth, scalability, and operational practicality matter a lot.

Would genuinely appreciate constructive advice from people who understand branding, fashion, D2C, retail, or manufacturing especially from an execution and business perspective, not just opinions. Thanks in advance.
