How come saxophone players seem to have no problem when someone like me doesn't like saxophones & aren't interested in listening to songs with sax but AI users can't seem to have same attitude towards those who don't like their particular 'instrument'?

I don't lik3 the sound of tenor sax & if I know a song/artist uses it a lot, I am not interested. I've never had a singl3 person dispute my personal preference.

but when it comes to AI...totally different. why do so many creators seem to feel like they are entitled to the world paying attention. no other music fad in history has ever been so needy. he'll, punk rock reveled in being against the industry. but no, AI wants to be part of the in crowd so bad. why not just do your thing without worrying so much about other folks personal precerence?

With all the deserved attention the new Dead app is getting, plus latest Dicks Picks dropping, I think this new Jerry/Merl release(garciaLive 22) is getting overlooked

This show(9/25/71) is a lot of fun. we all know how great Jerry & Merl were together & this is one more great example of how locked in they were & just how much fun they seemed to have.

for me,the part that I'm enjoying on my first handfuls of listens is the way the rhythm guitar plays with Jerry, Merl...the whole band. thts right, I said rhythm guitar. and it isn't Mr Weir.

this show was during the period when Tom Fogarty was playing in the band(this band) when he was available. yeah, Tom Fogarty of Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of the great American guitar riff bands.

Jerry played with various rhythm guitarists as guests & sitting in all the time. But there wasn't very many electric rhythm players who played with him enough to where it got interesting. where Jerry & the rhythm player knew each other playing enough to start really trying things.

He had the otherworldly musical partnership with Bob & that was about it for rhythm players who developed something beyond the basics. except for what Tom F did with Jerry(& Merl) for a brief period.

so we are all used to Bob's rhythm playing. completely original & perfectly serving the music. Tom Fogarty has a much more mainstream style of rhythm playing. he's not up there pushing the edges & walking tightropes(& occasionally falling off) to find th3 perfect strum of the perfect note at the perfect time. Tom is from th3 old school....keep the rhythm consistent. he plays off of th3 other instruments in a different way than Bob(again, it's the more 'normal' way...Bob was a one-of-a-kind), but he's great at the style he plays. and the sound is dialed in.

brings us to where the band arrives when they have an extra 6 strings in tow. it's like going down th3 same highway you know real well but in a different car. the jams all jam & th3 songs generally sound similar, but if you listen closely, the pure gold(for my ears) is listening to the interplay among Jerry,Tom & Merl. they definitely play WITH each other, giving plenty of opportunities to actually hear musical conversations & the back & forth of it all.

and again, since we are all so accustomed to hearing Jerry interacting heavy with only one style of rhythm(Bob), it's really interesting to hear him in this light.

this is not the first time I've heard Jerry & Merl shows with Tom, but it doesn't happen often. comparatively there just aren't very many & it doesn't get into my ears enough. but whenever I do listen (like when a new release reminds me), I always quickly remember what a cool experience it is.
