2 pictures posted above, 2nd pic shows under the decking. After snaking the dryer vent we noticed lint in the garage attic space so I took a closer look and there’s a gap between the roof vent and the dryer pipe. Roof was installed last year and I called them to take a look. The roofers came back and slapped duct tape on the decking to prevent it from dropping lint.

I’m wondering is it standard practice to always add a collar or connection that secures the dryer pipe to the dryer vent on the roof? Or is this a pretty common install and not a big deal?

The roofers called it a plumbing issue but I don’t know if it’s really an installation issue where they failed to add a collar or connection. Seeking feedback, thanks.

The dryer vent hood collar (pic 3) and dryer duct pipe below (pic1) it aren’t tightly joined, some lint making it into garage attic. I would like to have a plumber close the gap by adding a coupling or something and have the pipe properly seated into the vent.

It’s only an inch or two but it’s causing problems. I had the roofer come out and all the roofer did was tape over the hole in the decking and say it’s a plumbing issue. How would this be fixed and How much would I expect to pay for this?
