Kept seeing people do these and decided to do one as well. Really makes you think lol. Some of these would probably be different if I thought about them every day and the more I think about them. But for now I’m pretty satisfied with it lol.

Some context:

Re4 is my all time favorite game. That will never change. (As you could have guessed). The OG and the remake. They are a tie for me. They are the same but different and I respect both versions. Wish I could put both of them in that spot lol. I’m obsessed lol.

Best story: RDR2 need I say more. Bought the game at midnight launch in 2018 and finally beat the game a couple years ago. I could have cried. What an amazing game and story.

Favorite art style: I went with Okami. When I think of okami I think art. It was between Xlll (13 from 2003), viewtiful joe, okami, and borderlands. Okami and the Japanese art is stunning even for a ps2 game.

Biggest personal impact: again, RE4. The game changed me as a gamer. From the new 3rd person over the shoulder gameplay to bonding over the game with friends. It was a huge part of my “gaming life” growing up. It was my first interaction with the series. I grew up watching g4 and watched the reviews of the game on xplay and other shows and it was amazing. I didn’t own a GameCube just a ps2 so when it came out on ps2 I had my mom take me to Walmart to get it. Me and my best friend had multiple sleepovers beating the game over and over. I wish I could go back to that time. Truly the best years. It’s a game that is forever burned into my soul. Such amazing memories that impacted me till this very day.

Best combat: re4 remake. While there are hundreds of other games with great combat mechanics that might be suited better in this category. I understand people might say wtf here lol. But since re4 is my favorite game of all time the remakes updated controls, parry system, moving while shooting, basically removing the tank controls from the og re4 just creates a smoother combat experience for the game. The flow and combat of re4 remake can be addicting. To me at least.

Overhated: this one was hard for me. One game that stuck out was black ops 6. While a lot of the newer modern CODs for sure deserve the hate, I felt like BO6 was actually one of the better ones. It was the first COD I had picked up in years and I sunk a lot of time in it and really enjoyed it. Didn’t care for the wacky multiplayer skins or some of the micro transactions but still I felt it was a better COD than some of the previous ones. Haven’t tried BO7 yet.

Underrated: FARCRY 5. I feel like FC5 gets some hate and just isn’t talked about enough. Mainly because it follows the same formula, more far cry lol. But I hear people talk about 3 and 4 but not much about 5. But 5 is special. It’s just different. It’s honestly in my top 10 games of all time. The story is pretty good, the setting is amazing, the music is fantastic, it’s just a fun game and something so nostalgic for me now. I love replaying it. 3 was my favorite until 5 came along.

Overrated: this was another tough one for me to think of. The last of us part 2 came to mind. It gets mixed feelings and reviews. And I understand why. It’s not a bad game per se but for sure not as good as the first one. But some would argue. I see a lot of praise for 2. I just think it’s overrated.

Needs a remake: Timesplitters. HANDS DOWN. I wish I could put Timesplitters 2 AND future perfect on this one. They both deserve remakes. Love these games. In my top 10 games of all time as well.

Criminally overlooked: another tough one for me. It was between evil west and samurai jack battle through time. Both excellent games that don’t get talked about enough. I decided on evil west. This game needs more love.

Favorite protagonist: Leon S Kennedy aka Daddy. Re4 Leon and RE requiem Leon.

Favorite antagonist: I originally had far cry 5 - Joseph seed but changed it to far cry 3 for Vaas - “do you the definition of insanity?” Such an iconic villain. Also thought of handsome jack from borderlands 2 and Dutch from Red Dead.

Best soundtrack: almost went with RE4 again. The og 2005 one. Ugh such good tracks. I have the vinyl for re4. But I didn’t want re4 for everything so I went with far cry 5. The music is amazing. I recently downloaded the far cry 5 soundtrack on my phone and it’s great. There are tracks that have stuck with me for a long time after beating that game.

Best multiplayer: another tough one. Settled with Halo 3. Haven’t played any halo 3 multiplayer on the master chief collection but I remember the multiplayer from when halo 3 came out and it was so much fun.

Not usually my thing but…. : Fire watch. Almost put What remains of Edith finch. Both kinda walking simulators and more of a story telling type game when usually I’m a FPS or action kinda guy. Firewatch was so good to play through.

Turn my brain off: GTA. I put 5 but any of them will work. 3, vice city, SA, 4. Do whatever you want…. drive around, blow up stuff, etc. need I say more.

Best with friends: Fortnite, just because when I play with friends that’s typically the game they wanna play lol. It’s not bad.

Best retro game: I went with Crash Team Racing just because my first video game console was a ps1 and I remember playing CTR a ton. I almost put pole position because I remember going to a local arcade and playing that a lot as well.

Nostalgic childhood game: this was tough too. So many nostalgia childhood games to choose from. Games like ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, and sly cooper and more. I picked pokemon gold. Growing up I had a gameboy color/adavance etc. (wish I still had them) and like a lot of 90s kids pokemon was the thing. I had gold, silver, and crystal, all of them could have went here. I spent many summers at my grandparents when I didn’t have my PlayStation 2 around playing pokemon on my gameboy.

Last but not least, game everyone should play: RE4. One of the greatest games of all time. Without re4 we wouldn’t have games like dead space, the last of us, or gears of war. I can’t even explain how amazing re4 is lol. Everyone needs to play it. Start with the OG and then try the remake.

Hope you liked my list! Tell me what you think!

I have over 400 games in my collection and this was tough to decide. Like I said there are some of these that I could change tomorrow lol. So many great games - some that didn’t make the cut like fable, god of war, metal gear solid snake eater, halos, etc could be on here for me but narrowing down this list is hard!!

I’m so excited! Lots of firsts - first tube amp, first Marshall. This feels like my first true amp! I’m 30 and have been playing guitar since I was 15. I’ve been using my line 6 120w amp all this time lol. Say what you want but it’s done the job! lol. Over the years I’ve invested my money into guitars and pedals over the amps. So this year I decided I really want to play guitar more and I wanted a solid amp.

I’ve had my eyes on a the DSL40CR for I couple years now and never pulled the trigger. At the end of last year I noticed they had a guitar center exclusive color, the stealth black and I instantly fell in love. I needed it. I know it’s not for everyone. I see comments like “I like the look but it would be hard to see the controls” or “I like the classic marshall look better” but man I love this blacked out look. And I don’t gig so I wouldn’t be playing in low light areas.

It was actually a journey to get this thing. I had one on back order but Guitar Center let me know they would be cancelling my order because they thought they were getting more in but turns out they wouldn’t be and the amp would be discontinued. So I was bummed. I searched and searched for one new (I’m OCD about my gear.) I wanted a new or mint one. Finally come across this one at a guitar center in Kansas. I called them up and they were FANTASTIC! They looked it over and said it was in mint condition. I said I’ll take it! They asked what guitar cables I used and I said mogami and they said “we’re gonna give you one for free” I was shocked! that’s a $70 guitar cable lol. They packed it up insanely good and it came in a Marshall DSL40 box! All tags, paperwork, and footswitch included! I paid $650!

So I had an excellent experience with the guitar center store I got this from and so glad I finally got one in mint condition!

Excited to see what this thing can do! I hear so many great things about these amps!

Any tips or tricks with these amps or tube amps in general since I’m new to this?

Bought this guitar a couple weeks ago from GC, paid $600. In faded blue Jean. My first guitar with a flamed top! I’m kinda obsessed. I think for an SE I got a pretty good top right? I’ve noticed some can be kinda plain or not have much flame.

My second PRS, my other being a core Silver Sky in nebula.
