My personal thoughts on Mortal Kombat 2

Saw it last night in the cinema, having seen some of the trailers I thought it looked kind of bad but still a good time and I love this series so I was willing to give it a try

Keep in mind I don't like the first movie or even the Legends movies (Snowblind being an exception)

But I was pleasantly surprised by the movie actually being decent

The fight scenes were really good and way better directed than in the first, they got a lot more creative and had some really cool moments, I'm glad they atleast gave Lewis Tan a good fight scene because he deserved it but I'm also glad they didn't keep Cole around longer than they did.

The movie just looks so much better than the first visually too, I thought the recreations of some of the game stages looks great and they did a great job with outworld and Edenia

The story was so much better than the first as well granted it still wasn't amazing but for a movie like this I don't think it needs to be and it served it purpose well

Character development was way better too, Sonya and Liu Kang felt a lot more interesting in this one and I think they did a great job with Johnny, Baraka, Shao Kahn and Kitana

As for some negatives

The pacing felt a little off at times but in a way I think it worked given its a Mortal Kombat movie

While I did enjoy the characters, I think Jade Should've been given at least one more scene before doing a complete 180 at turning good

While I do think it balanced it characters well, some of them didn't get a lot to do like Shang Tsung and Sindel, although I can forgive sindel more because she's supposed to be essentially characterless, like I said, I did like Liu Kang in this movie but I feel like he didn't get too do a whole lot compared to some of the other characters, he did get the coolest fight in the movie but I kind of wish he'd done a little more

But I think of everything the biggest issue for me was the dialogue could be a little rough at times, I'm not expecting to be blown away but some of it felt unnatural and took me out of the movie

Overall, I thought it was a huge improvement over the first in basically every way and just generally way better than I expected

I've made multiple posts on here in the last year so this isn't a new thing but it was just so ridiculous it reminded me that I'm not just lazy and nasty like she tries to make me out to be and that she is actually just a hypocrite

We were cleaning up the Kitchen and in a temper tantrum she literally kicks Two cat bowls across the room because "they were in her way" flipping one and spilling the meat everywhere and proceeds to blame me for putting them there

The conversation then went something like this

"You don't need all those Catbowls there"

"You didn't need to kick them"

I don't remember exactly what she said after that but she then started shouting again about wanting my cats gone and how I'm the reason the house is dirty when her room has had a half built cupboard into the wall for over a year and has beams with nails sticking out on the floor from where she hasn't finished it
