I very very much like these last few chapters.
I remember that i made a post and some comments criticizing the story throughout season 2. Its been 4 patch back to back where ive liked it so at this point its not a fluke they have picked up the pace.
2.5: Was a 7/10 for me, the finale wasnt as epic has the first season imo, I liked the relation phaeton had with Ye shunguang too,was saddened that Elder Lu Hengzhou wasnt introduced earlier having a guy like this in the background, a grade S Belle/Wise hater would have been blast as a sort of Alliser thorne.
The relationship between the "Overprotective" brother and his Sister was also well explored imo and the introduction of youkai a proper piece of shit who like to use people ,well if you can call robot people.
The chapter just needed to be trimmed imo, too much osmanthus cake for my liking and Ye shunguang near suicidal tendancy to use the sword for no valid reason sometime just to add drama was another.
2.6: Another 7/10 for me, it was the chill patch after the chaos.Liked the angels and despised Youkai even more for using Aria who was clearly in the ai equivalent of deep depression without her input.
Liked that we saw old face like Jane doe and co and that it fitted well into the story, never felt like saying whyare they there. Finishing with a banger of a song at the end is a plus too.
2.7: a 8/10 for me.
The consequences of the proxy being reckless are catching up and she need the porcelum mcguffin wengine to save her.
Cissia was well introduced imo, didnt even feel like she did any trauma dump, Billy being is usual self and Remielle first introduction, liked that the character has her own quest and screwed the proxy over at the end of it, she did warn her too.
Romeul was actually menacing the fist time i was glad Billy appeared to save the day, thinking about it it think its the first time too.
Oh and cant forget the proxy dream, it freaked me out just a bit not gonna lie, still dont know if its about the future or thing she did in the past like what do belle mean by they already took the sun.
2.8: 9/10 imo its up there with Miyabi patch for me.
For once the story is moving moving, Proxy state is still deteriorating she's hearing voices and shit every few hours now and sleepwalking.
Ensue a great boss fight, im sorry but Sarah didnt got shit on Raptor Phaeton and the scream of suffering of belle in the background nor did her boss theme, we have more clue about wtf is going on with the proxy, Billy and Cissia beyond all my expection work even better this time around the best comedic duo in ZZZ , Promeia character is actually played completely straight she does her job has been asigned to follow Belle and is all in all pretty reserved and cold so her wtf is happening face when everything goes to shit hit harder.
Remielle Dan is a day one for me unless season 3 radically change my opinion of her, love her playful personality her Giant robotics feathers who are unfortunatly probably gonna be scaled down in gameplay, intrigued by her beef with Sunbringer and what she's actually searching im sure her trying to kill Sunbringer isnt true and I'll be pleasantly surprised if hoyo go that way. By the trailer tho they clearly dont see eyes to eyes.
Would have been a 10 if they had let us fight Ethereal Phaeton properly and if the proxy had almost killed someone for some more gravitas.
Of course im ranking the chapter relative to what zzz has offered and what I expected of it.
So no i dont think the last chapter is on the same level as one of the first three stormlight Archives for exemple.
i hope they keep hitting the gas and dont go meandering too much, i expect some stalling im playing a gacha game even Reverse and Fgo who i hold in the highest regards in gacha game story are victim of it, however Season 2 overborded it. Until 2.5 i felt like the story didnt significantly progress.
In brief ,I hope they keep doing what their doing right now, its working im hyped for whats to come and want more story.
