Family Neighborhoods

We’re moving to the Peninsula /SF from Los Angeles after four years there and ten years in Phoenix with our two kids. We are looking to rent (budget $7,000/month). We’re excited to join a progressive, family-focused community with strong public schools for our 2nd grader and toddler-friendly resources for our 1-year-old, and would appreciate recommendations on areas to consider and open to various neighborhoods within SF or the Peninsula that you love. Visit Than you 💕

Hi neighbors — we’re moving to Pacifica this summer with a toddler and a current 2nd grader and would love school recommendations.

We’re looking for a TK–8 option (or strong elementary + middle school path) and we’re open to public, charter, or private. If you have personal experience (as a parent/guardian, teacher, or staff) with schools in the area, we’d really appreciate your recommendations.

A couple questions:

Has anyone heard updates on the proposed charter Ocean Light (is it planning to open this fall, or where does it currently stand with approval?

What elementary schools in/near Pacifica would you recommend based on your experience (and why)?

Thanks so much in advance!
