I have a 25 pt dehumidifier I run all day, and I have to empty the bucket every 24 hrs. It's a bit unnerving. So I'm wondering if this is an issue specific to this house or just a typical issue out here, since the humidity is always so high. We’re looking for a TK–8 option (or strong elementary + middle school path) and we’re open to public, charter, or private. If you have personal experience (as a parent/guardian, teacher, or staff) with schools in the area, we’d really appreciate your recommendations.

My dogs are on a monthly oral flea, tick, and heartworm treatment, but that only kills the bug after the dog is bitten. That means I'm finding live ticks crawling around on them every other day, and the occasional dead one.
I don't want to use pesticides and kill the surrounding ecosystem and stream, but the ticks are out of control. What do other pet owners do?
