Ultra SMER

This is the first car I’ve ever owned, I’ve had it three weeks, and I genuinely never thought it was possible to love a car this much. I was always indifferent to driving and I only got my licence last year (at the ripe old age of 36) because I thought it would come in handy for career change. Since getting the EX30 though I find myself just going out for a drive around my town and neighbouring villages to relax. I love driving it so much and I so glad I went got this over other cars I’d shortlisted.

Edit: typo

Key Fob

Does anyone else find that automated unlocking is unreliable when using the key fob? I often find myself having to wait at the car for a minute before it opens. And even when I press it to the B column, sometimes it’s quite slow to response.

Kill Bill OSTs

Does anyone know why the Kill Bill OSTs were removed from AM? I’ve found a couple of posts about this on Reddit but they’re all about 7 months old and date back to when the soundtracks were first pulled. Just wondering if the reason why has been released since then.

For anyone who’s ever been alone in a lab after hours… what’s the strangest, creepiest, or most genuinely terrifying thing you’ve experienced?

And I don’t mean the usual stuff like unbalanced centrifuges, alarms going off for no reason, or equipment acting up.

I’ll go first:
One night I was working late at my desk in the reading room (you needed a punch code to get in). I thought I could hear voices echoing through the halls, but it was an old building and there were always random noises, so I ignored it at first. Then someone started pushing at the reading room door. The way they were trying it, I could tell straight away they didn’t know the code and were not familiar with the door, if that makes sense, so I knew it wasn’t anyone from the building.
Long story short, two guys had broken into the building. They ended up stealing zoological specimens worth a lot of money!!! After that, the no lone working policy was really enforced and security came by at least one an hour to check the building.

I’ve been going down a bit of a rabbit hole reading strange camping and hiking stories, and now I’m curious what people here have actually experienced firsthand.

What’s the creepiest, scariest, or just plain weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you while camping or hiking?

If you’re comfortable sharing, it’d be great if you could include roughly where it happened.

Genuinely interested to hear your stories, whether they turned out to have a logical explanation or not.

What’s the point of the climate setting in the Volvo app when you can’t even control the temperature? It’s just on and off. How does it know what to do?

First off, apologies if this is a basic question. I’ve recently been in the fortunate position to buy a new car and went for an EV, as it suited my needs really well at a high level. However, I hadn’t originally planned for it, so I didn’t do a huge amount of research beforehand and I’m still learning the basics.

I did search the subreddit for this but couldn’t quite find an answer, probably because I’m not using the right search terms, so I thought I’d ask.

I understand that keeping the battery roughly between 20–80% is generally recommended for battery health. My (stupid) question is: within that range, does it matter when you plug in? For example, should I be letting it drop to just above 20% before charging again, or is it fine to plug in at any point (say 40%, 60%, etc.) as long as I’m staying within that window?

What would people here recommend as best practice?
