What’s your usual process when a lowballer comes back and says “ok I’ll pay the full amount”?At that point they’ve already left a bad impression and I’m inclined to ignore them, but wondered what everyone is doing.

Maybe a dumb question coming up. But Fred used this phrase multiple times regarding heating the building. Did people really not have the ability to control the temperature in their own apartment back then?

My son is graduating college next week. We’ve invited around 10ish people to lunch after the ceremony. We fully expect to pay for everyone, no problem. Out of curiosity though, if some of them are insistent on paying for themselves, do you just let them? Some of these people I don’t know very well, so they may feel obligated to offer. Again I have no problem with one check but if someone feels weird about it, I don’t want to force the issue.
