My Playdate should be coming in the mail very soon, are there any must buys I should buy?

Just got a ps4 pro from my friend for 30 bucks and every time I turn it on it won’t stop trying to check its system storage status. It continues to get stuck at 24% and won’t move from there. The fans are not moving and the console is not connected to internet or controller. Any pointers on what the hell I should do?
