Anyone selling collections?

Found my way to Arkham from another FFG LCG, Marvel Champions (which also suffers from lack of available product). Do people post collections anywhere as a good way for new players like myself to get more?

Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone to play board games with but have always had an interest to try X-Wing. Is this game able to be played solo?

Interested in either one of these, I’ve heard/seen a few YT videos showing the “power of three” card selection. Is there a resource that has the best or all solo variants?

Does the demon form of the Warlock get to make ranged attacks? I’m inclined to think the same as the authors of this Triple AAA guidebook; no.

(Mild spoilers for Game System and Kellar's Keep beyond):

I only started HQ a few months ago but rapidly played through First Light then started a new "campaign" with Game System and just finished Kellar's Keep.

PROs

- I think Kellar's Keep is better thematically than Game System. There are some fun stories in the GS but it's not one cohesive story. You have more like 4-5 smaller tales with Rescue of Sir Ragnar, searching for lost wizards, weird modular room dungeons, and then finally the Spirit Blade and the Witch Lord. I was really excited to get to KK after reading the epilogue from GS.

- The difficulty is better. GS is not very challenging though I did struggle with The Trial because none of my heroes had any buffs. I struggled a little on the modular dungeon because I didn't methodically clear out rooms and couldn't get more than one hero together but otherwise GS was kind of limp for difficulty (though I guess because this was originally intended for kids?) KK is not difficult but it does make you think a little more when you open a door or corridor and a bunch of baddies show up. The quests where they chase you are fun for something different. Makes you think our your spell usage.

CONs

- The extra tiles and pieces only get used one quest each? I guess thematically that tracks but just feels like they could have gotten more mileage out of the forge and the dread cloud. Unfortunately, I rolled an escape on the dread cloud on the first try and had no idea of what secrets it had so I thought it was pretty lame.

- The difficulty is better but you learn some cheap cheese tactics. I tried to avoid door battles and chokepoints because that really slows the game and takes out some fun but some of those high density baddie battles have no alternative unless you want slaughtered.

- Extra figures; why didn't they use different molds? I understand that is more cost but I don't want a dozen more of the same molds from GS for orcs and goblins. I still really don't like the Abomination molds (mythic style or GS) because they are so large. I bought a few Fimir figures to use instead because they don't jam up the board as much, especially when you get a bunch of them in a room.

- Final boss was lame. Having that battle in a corridor where only one hero gets a whack is very anti-climatic and just turns to dice rolls.

- Later quest books explicitly tell you if you can visit the armory or not between quests. I figured since this was all within the Dwarven stronghold you couldn't get more equipment (which I adhered to) but it should at least be more clear about that. I know this is an older quest book in the AH timeline but errata or FAQ would clear this up.

OVERALL

I guess it felt like a reasonable second adventure; higher difficulty, continued story from the GS, new spells and artifacts. I got my enjoyment and money's worth for sure but I can see how some would think it's a little too same-y.

I just made it to Prophecy of Telor in the play order and now have access to the Warlock. I'm kicking the tires on swapping out Elf for Warlock to keep a ranged attack and not lose the pool of spells by swapping out Wizard.

My question is; is it more in the spirit of the game to start a new character with no extra stuff (other than maybe buying an equipment or two to make them somewhat equal) or share ALL acquired loot with them? Is it cheating by giving the Warlock all of the stuff the Elf acquired from the last two books?

Kellar’s Keep is a linear story between the quests, going deeper and deeper into the dwarven stronghold. Are there any other similar strings of quests where it makes sense that the heroes do NOT have access to the armory between quests?
