For context: I am a non-trad undergrad (26F) and he is a grad student TA’ing for my class. When I first met him I was immediately attracted to him and I felt we have good chemistry. As a Gen Z, of course I scrubbed the web looking for him and was shocked that nothing came back that wasn’t academic. So I decided to do a mini background check on him (sorry if that sounds crazy🙈) I know they’re not always accurate but from the looks of it he is about 20 years my senior and a divorcé, neither of which change my disposition. Since I’m well above the average age of the class and just in general more mature than my counterparts, he treats me much more like a peer. However, our conversations are majority academic and I don’t want to make them personal yet while the class is still going because I don’t want him to feel uncomfortable. The class will end in a few weeks but the thought of not seeing him anymore really bothers me. I’m looking for something casual but I am open to more if he is. So I guess my question is: how do I ask him out after the class ends without making him uncomfortable? Write a note maybe? Just come out and say it? What are the chances he will even consider me and not look at me as just a child/student?
