Grammy-winning quintet to showcase new album “The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers” this November

Grammy-winning quintet to showcase new album “The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers” this November

The Punch Brothers are set to return to the stage this fall, bringing their genre-defying acoustic sound to the historic Boch Center Shubert Theatre on Friday, November 13, 2026. The performance is part of a massive cross-country tour supporting their seventh studio album, The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers.

Presented by the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame, the upcoming show marks a significant milestone for the band. The new record is the group’s first all-instrumental release, a bold move that places the technical mastery of mandolinist Chris Thile, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny, and violinist Brittany Haas at the absolute forefront.

Haas, who joined the quintet in 2023, makes her recording debut with the band on this project. According to founding member Chris Thile, the new dynamic has reinvigorated the group’s creative process.

"Something about the dichotomy of all the water under the bridge plus a new, brilliant teammate in Brittany," Thile said of the recording process in Vermont. "We all felt like kids in a candy store … so many possibilities and so much energy with which to pursue them."

Formed in 2006, the Punch Brothers have spent two decades pushing the boundaries of the American string band. While they have previously garnered acclaim and a Grammy Award for their vocal-heavy folk and bluegrass works, this tour strips away the lyrics to focus on "stories, impressions, and emotions communicated entirely with strings."

The album features eight original compositions and three traditional arrangements, including the lead track "New Bike," which is available now.

Tickets for the Boston performance go on sale Friday, May 8, at 10:00 AM. Fans can purchase tickets through the Boch Center Box Office, BochCenter.org, or Ticketmaster.

In keeping with the band's commitment to social impact, Punch Brothers has partnered with PLUS1 to ensure that $1 from every ticket sold goes toward organizations dedicated to equity, access, and dignity for all.

They Might Be Giants Announce New Album and Multi-Night Boston Tour Stop

Brooklyn’s favorite alternative rock pioneers, They Might Be Giants, are back with a double dose of news for New England fans: a brand-new album is on the way, followed by a multi-night residency at the House of Blues this June.

The band, led by the prolific duo of John Linnell and John Flansburgh, officially announced their latest LP, The World Is to Dig, set for release on April 14. This 18-song collection marks their first full-length project since 2021’s Grammy-nominated BOOK.

A New Sound Inspired by Legends

To kick off the announcement, the band released the lead single, "Wu-Tang." Despite the name, don't expect a hip-hop track; the song is a signature TMBG pop anthem that celebrates the transformative power of the legendary rap collective through '60s-style hooks.

"The original idea was a Tin Pan Alley-style song extolling the greatness of heavy metal," explained John Linnell. "‘Wu-Tang’ was written more or less along those lines... void of any musical reference to the great hip-hop collective. Are we fans? Sure! Would we ever attempt to emulate their sound? Not publicly."

"The Bigger Show Tour" Hits Boston

Following the album release, the band will embark on THE BIGGER SHOW TOUR, which lands in Boston for two nights:

  • Friday, June 5, 2026
  • Saturday, June 6, 2026

Fans can expect a unique experience each night. Performing in an "An Evening with" format—meaning no opening act—the band will be backed by an eight-piece ensemble, including a three-piece horn section.

Each night’s first set will spotlight a different classic album from their massive catalog, while the second set will feature a mix of fan favorites, deep cuts, and new tracks from The World Is to Dig.

How to Get Tickets

Tickets for the Boston shows at the House of Blues are on sale now. Given the band's history of sold-out performances—including several dates already at capacity on this upcoming tour—local fans are encouraged to act fast.

Local blues-rock titans, the Delta Generators, are coming home to the Spire Center for Performing Arts on May 22 to celebrate the launch of their latest studio album, ON & ON.

Known for a "real music by real people" ethos, the band promises a raw, vibrant performance that showcases their evolution as one of the Boston scene's most formidable acts.

A Rapid Creative Spark

The story behind ON & ON is as high-energy as the music itself. The collection was written, arranged, and rehearsed in a whirlwind eight-day period. To capture that lightning in a bottle, the band headed to Power Station N.E. in Waterford, CT, where they recorded the entire album in just two days under the guidance of renowned producer Evan Bakke.

According to the band, the fast-paced process allowed them to create without overthinking, resulting in a sound that is both polished and primal.

"It captures the live spirit of the band and is sonically superior to our past albums," said guitarist Charlie O’Neal. Drummer Jeff Armstrong added that the project represents their most cohesive work to date.

Deep Roots and Philosophical Undercurrents

Formed in 2007, the Delta Generators feature brothers Charlie and Rick O’Neal on guitar and bass, Jeff Armstrong on drums, and powerhouse vocalist Brian Templeton. Templeton, a staple of the local music scene since 1991, joined the fold in 2016, bringing a seasoned depth to the band’s songwriting.

Despite the rock-and-roll energy, the album carries a reflective weight. Templeton noted that the themes of the record draw inspiration from the Book of Ecclesiastes, specifically the concept that human efforts are fleeting.

“Making a spiritual bond with our fans is why we do what we do,” Templeton said, emphasizing that the band thrives on the connection made during live performances.

The Boch Center is bringing a double dose of comedy and spectacle to the historic Wang Theatre. Officials announced this week that two of Broadway’s most popular hits, Monty Python’s Spamalot and the ghost-with-the-most musical Beetlejuice, are officially slated for the 2026-2027 season.

The announcement comes with a special nod to comedy history: the news was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the source material for the Tony Award-winning Spamalot.

A Legendary Quest Returns For the first time in nearly two decades, Spamalot returns to Boston from October 6–11, 2026. Fans can expect the return of the Lady of the Lake, killer rabbits, and flying cows, accompanied by classic songs like “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.”

Tickets for Spamalot go on sale to the general public this Friday, May 1, 2026.

The Ghost with the Most is Back Following a massive demand during its previous runs, Beetlejuice will haunt the Wang Theatre from February 9–21, 2027. Based on Tim Burton’s beloved film, the musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz and her encounter with a "recently deceased" couple and a certain stripe-wearing demon.

While the official public on-sale date for Beetlejuice will be announced later, the Boch Center is offering a head start for fans:

  • Early Bird Access: Began Wednesday, April 29, at 10:00 AM for those on the Boch Center email list.

Commitment to the Arts “Together, Spamalot and Beetlejuice highlight the Boch Center’s continued commitment to presenting world-class Broadway programming that blends classic comedy, contemporary storytelling, and visually stunning theatrical experiences,” the nonprofit institution said in a statement.

As New England’s largest cultural venue, the Boch Center continues to act as the anchor of Boston’s historic Theater District, supporting community initiatives like the City Spotlights Teen Leadership Program alongside its major commercial runs.

At a Glance:

  • What: Spamalot (Oct 2026) and Beetlejuice (Feb 2027)
  • Where: Boch Center Wang Theatre, 270 Tremont St, Boston
  • Tickets: Available atbochcenter.orgstarting Friday, May 1.
