Got an offset tele JS from Franklin guitar works, almost no sound when series mode engaged

Guitar arrived and sounds fine when volume pot is down. When pulled up for series mode almost all volume is lost. I don’t see any loose wires. Anything to check before initiating a return? I know the switch set to bridge would be silent, but this is with switch in the middle or neck.

Looking at a Paranormal JS offset telecaster. Worth it if I have a JM already?

I always played Strats and teles and decided to check out the classic vibe JM and Jaguar and keep one. Well after some minor work I’m keeping both. They are a lot of fun.

Anyone have the offset JS ? A hardtail would be fine and it sounds like it could be a an interesting pickup mix and the phase switching. Would this be totally redundant as someone already having a JM and other teles? Or is it its own thing with new new sounds? None I can check out locally.
