I'm in the process of buying this laptop secondhand, and the seller has sent me the HWinfo file. I ran the whole thing through Copilot and it is adamant that this is NOT one of the versions with the faulty hall sensor issue. Just posting here to see if anyone can confirm whether or not this is true.
Model:
- HP Omen 16‑wf0xxx
- SKU: 97R99PA#AB1
- Family: 103C_5335M7 HP OMEN
- Motherboard: HP 8BAB
- Mainboard Version: 76.65
- Chipset: Intel HM770 (Raptor Lake‑S PCH)
- EC Firmware: 76.65
- BIOS Version: F.28
- BIOS Date: 07/16/2025

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
- Panel Model: BOE0B7D Manufacturer: BOE Resolution: 2560 × 1440 (QHD) Refresh Rate: 60–240 Hz
Now it is also saying the following:
🟧 Hall Sensor / ACPI
Your ACPI tables show:
- Microsoft ACPI‑Compliant Embedded Controller
- EC Firmware: 76.65
- Updated lid‑sensor debounce logic
- Updated sleep/wake handling
- Corrected Hall‑sensor placement (2024 revision)
I have no idea whether or not this is true or just BS.
I can buy the laptop secondhand for around 700 dollars, it seems like a good deal but ofcourse I'm open to feedback.
