I'm in the process of buying this laptop secondhand, and the seller has sent me the HWinfo file. I ran the whole thing through Copilot and it is adamant that this is NOT one of the versions with the faulty hall sensor issue. Just posting here to see if anyone can confirm whether or not this is true.

Model:

  • HP Omen 16‑wf0xxx
  • SKU: 97R99PA#AB1
  • Family: 103C_5335M7 HP OMEN
  • Motherboard: HP 8BAB
  • Mainboard Version: 76.65
  • Chipset: Intel HM770 (Raptor Lake‑S PCH)
  • EC Firmware: 76.65
  • BIOS Version: F.28
  • BIOS Date: 07/16/2025
  • UEFI: Yes
  • TPM: Hardware TPM 2.0
  • CPU: Intel Core i5‑13500HX
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
  • Panel Model: BOE0B7D Manufacturer: BOE Resolution: 2560 × 1440 (QHD) Refresh Rate: 60–240 Hz

Now it is also saying the following:

🟧 Hall Sensor / ACPI

Your ACPI tables show:

  • Microsoft ACPI‑Compliant Embedded Controller
  • EC Firmware: 76.65
  • Updated lid‑sensor debounce logic
  • Updated sleep/wake handling
  • Corrected Hall‑sensor placement (2024 revision)

I have no idea whether or not this is true or just BS.

I can buy the laptop secondhand for around 700 dollars, it seems like a good deal but ofcourse I'm open to feedback.

Hey all,

My girlfriend's laptop is on its last legs, and we're looking for a new laptop for her. She was using my old laptop, a Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05. It's served us both well over the last 5,5 years, but the GPU (GTX 1650) is giving out so I've had to turn it off to prevent black screens from constantly interrupting her work. It's functioning okay now, the occasional black screen but it probably won't last another 6 months so I'm in the process of looking for a replacement. She was playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition and was enjoying it, so I'm looking for a gaming laptop. Doesn't have to be anything crazy, something with a RTX 2050 or 3050 would suffice.

I've been looking around and have found this one, but since we're not locals I figured I'd ask here if this store is reliable and if you guys have other suggestions. Thanks in advance!
