Dear Valve, I love your controller, but for the love of Gabe give me a calibration tool..
Almost every controller I own can have the joystick center/range calibrated. Center calibration helps to correct any bias and match the exact center of physical joystick "slop" with the calibrated center. Range calibration allows me to swap joystick caps for ones with metal ring shafts to reduce friction/wear.
Trackpads and gyro are cool, but I play shooters with joysticks. I have been almost 30 years, since Goldeneye 007 on N64. I like to play with 0 inner dead zones, and it's important to me that I can manually tune the center point calibration.
I understand that this is not as important to most users, but what if the joystick needs to be recalibrated for other reasons? It is something that I feel needs to be included in a future update.
Happy gaming everybody!
