can robot vacuums clean reliably when nobody is supervising them for busy working parents who can’t clean every day?

Being a busy parent means I’m often juggling multiple responsibilities at once. Cleaning doesn’t always make the top of the list, so I’m looking for a robot vacuum that can clean reliably even when I’m not home or supervising it. I’ve heard a lot about how robot vacuums can run autonomously, but I’m wondering how well they really clean when left unsupervised. I’m especially interested in a model that can handle hardwood, tile, and kitchen floors without missing spots. It would be even better if it offered features like 99% bacteria removal and 95% dust mite reduction for improved home hygiene. Can these vacuums truly clean efficiently on their own, or do they require a lot of manual adjustments?

I’d love to hear about real experiences with robots that you can trust to clean your home without having to babysit them. Does it clean well enough to make up for manual cleaning, or is it just good for quick touch-ups?

How do I pick a robot vacuum that doesn’t end up gathering dust in six months?

I'm about to buy a robot vacuum, but here’s the thing: I don’t want to buy a fancy gadget that I’ll forget about in a few months. I’ve read reviews, watched videos, and all these vacuums sound great initially, but how do I know I’ll actually use it long-term?

I’m not talking about specs. I’m talking about the real-world experience. Will it actually make my life easier, or will it become just another piece of technology I end up ignoring after the excitement wears off?

For anyone who’s had their robot vacuum for 6+ months — what has kept you using it? Was it actually worth the investment, and did it live up to the hype in everyday use?

Travis Scott x AJ1 Low Golf "Neutral Olive" Rep Pickup

Had these in hand for a bit and wanted to share some thoughts.

Overall they look really solid in person. The color blocking looks clean and the materials feel nice. Suede has some movement and the leather panels feel decent. Shape looks good to me and nothing stands out as off when worn. Swoosh placement looks consistent and stitching is clean overall. Midsole color looks right and not too yellow.

They fit TTS for me and are comfortable for everyday wear. No major complaints so far.

Just sharing my experience in case it helps anyone.

Alright, I’m about to lose it with this dust situation in my house. I have dust allergies, and no matter what I do, the floors always seem to accumulate dust. I’ve tried vacuuming, mopping, and even using air purifiers, but it feels like the dust just keeps coming back. I keep waking up with itchy eyes and a stuffy nose. The constant sneezing is driving me insane.

I’ve heard that robot vacuums could be a solution, especially the new 2026 models that supposedly pick up smaller particles. But I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth it. Can a robot vacuum really help with controlling dust on floors consistently? I mean, will it get to the tiny particles that seem to trigger my allergies, or is it just going to roll around and miss most of it?

I’m considering investing in one, but before I do, I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually used them. Does anyone have experience with these newer models, especially for people with allergies? I don’t want to spend money on something that doesn’t actually work.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

The more I look at Chinese model competition, the less useful the “who wins overall?” frame feels. Ling-2.6-1T being open-sourced on Hugging Face today is interesting to me mostly because it makes a different lane easier to inspect. The model is being framed around precise instruct execution, long structured tasks, agent/tool use, and lower token overhead — not just broad generalist sparkle. That does not automatically make it “better than DeepSeek.”

If anything, it pushes me toward a different question: are Chinese labs now separating into different jobs? Broad default workhorse, reasoning-first flex, planner-grade execution model, long-context specialist, etc.

If you already use DeepSeek as a default, where would an open model like Ling actually need to feel different before you cared? Same benchmark lane? Same workflow lane? Same cost lane?
