First TAG Heuer - Purple Glassbox Carrera

I recently had the good fortune of picking up this lovely piece. I own several nice watches but this is my first TAG Heuer. The fit and size are wonderful. When I compare it to my other chronographs (Breitling, IWC, etc.), this watch is incredibly wearable and fits comfortably under a shirt sleeve. In terms of negatives, there’s not much but I would say it feels a little flimsy and the clasp on the strap is not quite as nice as some of the other brands I own. That being said, it’s still a great watch, the dial is a knockout, and I am very happy with the piece. Might pick up the OEM bracelet to see if that feels better than the strap. I am also very interested to see the other collections TAG Heuer offers given the first model I tried out was very impressive.

My Pinky cleared customs and was delivered today. I have been waiting on this one for a couple of months. Marloe did a great job on the packaging. Some fun”Haggis” graffiti. Here are some initial impressions.

Feels very comfortable on the wrist. It has a slim profile and a nice leather strap that’s not too stiff out of the box. The date wheel is fun to play with. The little Haggis guy on the crown is a fun touch.

The case is very polished and catches the eye, and the color combo of blue, pink and black feels very casual but stylish to me. Maybe not something I would wear to work, unless it was casual Friday. The case is small enough that I think it would comfortably fit a smaller wristed person of any gender but it also feels well sized for my 7.4 inch wrist. Seems like a good watch for anyone looking for a fun, casual piece to add to their collection.

I wanted to share some pictures of my new acquisition. Haven’t seen too many pictures of the AB01381E1G1P1 outside of official media. I really like the look of the off-white against the red and gold accents, and the black subdials. The one thing I find curious is why an extra strap was included that is so similar in color. Basically only the stitching is different. 🤷‍♂️ But overall I am super happy with the piece.

I was also impressed by Breitling’s new packaging. The brown leather is a big improvement over the blue felt.
