Day 5 Inheritance Listening Project

Apparently my uncle really liked The Doors so we got Strange Days 1974 reissue, and Morrison Hotel 1983 reissue on deck today, should be fun, enjoyed the other day when I had a Doors compilation spinning at least💁‍♀️

Haven't had this hard to read a book feel so worth it before

I am a *VORACIOUS* reader if im doing so regularly, page count weekly being 4 digits usually. I started this today and im not 30 pages in yet, odd feeling. Simultaneously im still connecting and finding value in each absorbed word. I can see why people told me its a bit life changing, and The Stranger should be here tomorrow🖤

Day 4 Inheritance Listening Project

Up on today's docket, Frank Zappa and the Mothers, Over-nite Sensation, original 1973 issue, and Rock and Roll Over by Kiss, original 1976 issue! Excited to actually listen to the Zappa, I respect the guy but the music is new to me

Day 2 of listenin to my inheritance

Looked up the numbers on this one before posting, it is a 1980 reissue, but this is record two of the 275+ inherited from my uncle, listening to at least 1 a day. Today aims to have a few more played this evening but im starting the morning with what I know is a classic, and im not at all surprised my uncle was a fan of Bowie lol. Kind of amazing how music can cut right through grief huh, feels nice to celebrate the many ive lost thru tunes. OKAY that all being said, never heard this album full through before, would be one I return to for sure, would go good while reading a light sci-fi book!

Day 1 of listening thru my 275+ record inheritance

I inherited a lot of music from my uncle years ago, finally going through at least 1 a day to see what I actually enjoy. So far, this one is pretty good! On the casual end of my rock taste

How's my taste?

I mostly listen to music on CD these days, so how's all my current jazz collection? Evans is my favorite clearly but I do love me some Thelonious Monk!

EP so good I got a tattoo

I got this tattoo at 19 years old. 13 years later, fairly recently, I finally found it on vinyl in the wild. Wore through my old cd copy way long ago

How we feel about Clipping?

I got these off the shelf at the record store kind of at random, they caught my eye being so stark white among colorful cds, and they are right up my alley! Im still finishing up CLPPNG but have no doubt a scifi concept album like i think the other is will be even more my thing. Thing is, I dont remember ever hearing about these guys before. Is that me being a newbie or are they just kinda under the radar?

Im not 'new' exactly to Camus, ive loosely followed his philosophy for decades at this point *but I've never actually read his work*. I got The Myth of Sisyphus just recently, should I be prepared for anything? I'm a voracious reader, but I've seen his work can be slow? Other than that all I really know is I feel like the book will help me in a sense, I know enough about him to know that

Currently playing CLPPNG by Clipping, but I got some new Bill Evans and Miles Davis today too. Music has been a huge soothing force lately, hip-hop/rap and jazz have been huge for keeping me sane especially. Gonna be inheriting more early next week, grandpa recently passed and stuff will be organized starting Monday but for now, I needed some fresh tunes to keep me going. Also the ONN rugged Bluetooth speaker is kinda underrated, this thing does so good with most music, has a small issue with some metal but that's it really. Not top of the line but DAMN

Take some broken in Iron Rangers, loop the laces around back and tie a simple square with the ends in front, and bam you got some decently secure slip on boots that feel like the ones that characters wore in fantasy novels I read as a kid! Like yes, comfy, durable, amazing investment, BUT THE COOL FACTOR! Damn i love boots that can feel cool. Always fun to go hike with them and read those very books somewhere, these are secure on trails and backwoods as some rock climbing shoes on boulders were that I used in my more athletic days

My grandpa got me into scifi, its 90% of what I read these days. This is the oldest book I have from him, I've read it so damn much that I got a limited edition hat once with a design that reminded me of one of the stories inside it, Kaleidoscope, what with the astronauts floating apart and away from their recent ship destruction to their deaths. I learned he passed today. Maybe crack open one of your older books or magazines or vhs tapes or somethin, get that nostalgia flowing for the guy that raised me right, we lost a good one

Im not sure if the Fiio DM13 has a dedicated case, but if not I wanna let fellow owners(and likely any cd player owner with something the same or smaller size) know that the book protector company Book Beau makes water resistant, padded, and zippered pouches, the smallest size(bebe on their site) is PERFECT for the DM13! if you push it all the way in, it has a bit of room for some wired earbuds even! Before I carried the player in my bag and even placed carefully sometimes buttons got pressed accidentally, this stops that too. Also as a last note, you can get tons of prints and designs for it, most are book related in some form though, i just got the blood spatter cuz red, matchy matchy
