My planted 40 gallon breeder with blue Acaras

I have had it set up for 2 months and the jungle Val blew up and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on cutting it or know if it would melt a lot if i do because I plan on only cutting it half off maybe less because I still want it long but not so that it’s taking the light from my other plants because one of my Amazon swords died and one almost died but my older one is still doing good
