PHOENIX, Ariz. – Registration is now open for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) 2026 Western CMP Games!

Set at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Arizona, Oct. 9-18, the annual Western Games brings together a full slate of outdoor rifle and pistol competitions, instruction and camaraderie for adults and juniors of all experience levels.

For those team match competitors looking to avoid early morning squadding and becoming a mosquito buffet on the range, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has announced the opportunity for advanced team registration for the 2026 National Matches season!

This year’s National Matches is set for July 12 to Aug. 9, at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Base in Port Clinton, Ohio – conducted through a partnership between the CMP and the Ohio National Guard. The series showcases a variety of indoor and outdoor rifle, pistol and air gun competitions and clinics for all experience levels. 

Changes to match squadding will affect the Hearst Doubles and Vintage Sniper Team rifle events as well as team events during the Long Range rifle phase.

CAMP PERRY, Ohio – Join us on the firing line for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) 2026 National Smallbore and Air Gun Championships, offered during the annual National Matches in Port Clinton, Ohio!

The National Matches, held at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Base since 1907, is conducted through a partnership between the CMP and the Ohio National Guard – showcasing a variety of indoor and outdoor events for adults and juniors.

The National Smallbore lineup is scheduled for July 12-22. The lineup includes iron sights and any sights prone events as well as 3x20 (three-position) individual and team matches. Prone events also include an F-Class National Championship for those competing with extra support.

All smallbore events are fired on Camp Perry’s Petrarca Range, featuring a covered firing line and CMP’s own outdoor electronic targets.

For air rifle or air pistol competitors – check out the National Air Gun Championships, held on the electronic target range within the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center on Camp Perry. The series is comprised of training, followed by two days of 60-shot competitions. The events will run concurrently with the National Smallbore and National Pistol phases, July 12-16.

TALLADEGA, Ala. – SSG Christopher Liming, 52, of Tampa, FL, attended his first Talladega Spring Classic in March and took home plenty of souvenirs to remember the trip.

Not only did Liming claim the overall win in the Service Pistol EIC Match but also in the Service Revolver EIC Match and the Any Sights portion of the .22 Rimfire, Center Fire and .45 Pistol Aggregates – leading to yet another title in the culminating 2700 Pistol Aggregate.

Over 340 individuals attended the 2026 Talladega Spring Classic, participating in the lineup of rifle, pistol and shotgun events for all experience levels. The event was held March 17-22 at the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama.
