CZ75 SP01 with Harbor Freight Special

In case anyone was curious about what the harbor freight special WML looked like on a CZ75 SP01. There’s a sale going on this weekend and these WMLs are going for 36 bucks, picked up three of them to try it out lol. After some quick and unscientific testing they seem about as bright as the streamlight. The ribbed for your pleasure takes a bit getting used to but can’t complain for 1/5 the cost of a TLR1 HL.

Am I the only one who finds these vertical lines on this metal backstrap between the grips on my model 29 to be utter torture when shooting this?

So I got this Smith and Wesson model 29-10 and when I first took it to the range shooting this made the palm of my hand feel like it being shredded apart by a cheese grater. So much so that I actually started bleeding kinda badly after about 80 rounds. Now at the time I thought this was due to the checkered pattern in the wooden grips that came with it. So I put these rubber grips onto it. Then recently I took it to the range and then I found out the problem wasn’t the wooden grips that came with it. The problem is actually those vertical lines in the backstrap. Now I could barely even make it through one cylinder due to the vertical lines in the backstrap tearing apart and shredding the skin on the palm of my hand. So I contacted Smith and Wesson about it and they just said that the guns shouldn’t cause that kind of discomfort. They wanted me to send it in to them because they said there must be something wrong with it. But you can clearly see in these provided photos that it looks like it was manufactured to their correct standards. And before you say that it’s just from recoil that’s not true since I can shoot this with no problems wearing gloves. I’ve also got a 454 Casull that kicks harder than this gun but my 454 Casull has an entirely smooth backstrap and I’m able to shoot that gun with no gloves on just fine. Now I’ve watched hundreds of videos about these Smith and Wesson revolvers and I’ve never heard anyone else complain about the vertical lines in the back straps. My question is why am I seemly the only one who takes major issue with this? Has any of you had issues with vertical lines on back straps causing a painful cheese grater effect on the palms of your hands under recoil?

Taking group to range. How many firearms should I bring and which ones

I’m taking some coworkers to an indoor range and trying to determine what to take and how many firearms to bring.

I figure about 10 people between 3-4 lanes. I’m going to push for more lanes but they get busy so 4 might be pushing it.

I took most of them last year so they are familiar with basic firearm safety. The range also has someone I can hire to assist so between the 2 of us me doing constant loading and them helping/ assisting.

Originally I was thinking 3 firearms per lane but now thinking that might be excessive.

Was thinking to bring

  1. Stacatto P, Glock 47

  2. Bul 4.25 tac pro, Shadow systems xr920p

  3. M&P metal HD competitor, TX22, Glock 19x

  4. Henry level 22LR, Kidd 10/22, Ruger PCC9mm

Other firearms I can change out or bring in addition.

Ruger 22LR pistol

Revolver chambered in 22LR

AR-15

Shotgun (only if one of the husbands comes, he is into them)

Was thinking to get an AR-22 so would be an excuse

Range Time with Trainee

When I say nothing, I mean, absolutely nothing gives me greater joy, pleasure, and impresses me more than seeing my student’s progress on the range!

This was the second time this young lady has trained with me, as she shot amazingly!

This is what it’s all about for me.

Give me your Opinion: VP9K vs FN509M

Both are concealable 15 rounders, comparable in size to the G19. I don't have large hands, so anything bigger than a G19 isn't for me. And I'm not a gun collector; so I won't purchase a subsequent handgun just for conceal carry.

Thoughts on the Springfield Armory XD Mod 4?

Just bought my second firearm...

first buy was a Used S&W SD9VE for $150 then I got the crimson trace laser guard for $50 used and put it on.

I had really liked the XD Mod 3 when I first started looking but the used SD9 was too good to pass up.

I was at Range a few weeks ago practicing and was checking out a few used Hellcats in the case and one of the guys brought me over to the XD Mod 4 bundle - $449.99 for the Gun ( $399.99 by itself) with 4 mags, a soft bag and the Viridian RFX-11optic.

I ended up passing on it that day but deciding to pull the trigger a week later (pun intended) and they were out of stock everywhere.... spent days looking and finally found it for $429.99 about an hour from my house.

I do really like it compared to the SD9. I feel more accurate with it and I feel like it jumps less in my hand when I shoot it.

anyone else have one, shot one, or have any thoughts on this weapon?

I am still new to shooting, but enjoying it.

EDC build?

Looking for recommendations on a really nice EDC build around $1,100-1,300 total

I'm 6'0/160 lbs, lefty, and need excellent concealment under jeans/button-down or loose clothes. Prioritizing slim profile, EDC, high capacity, flatter shooting, and color contrast for looks I want it to be sexy

I was looking into the freedom p365 xmacro I like the white contrast to it.

Built an app that analyzes target photos and tells you why you're missing - looking for people to try it this weekend

New shooter here. I kept shooting low-left and couldn't figure out if it was grip, trigger, or anticipation. Couldn't always get to a coach, so I built Shooting Coach - an iPhone app that lets you take a photo of your paper target and get a score and a diagnosis of what's causing the pattern.

Ran my own groups through it. It flagged trigger anticipation. Experienced shooters in another thread looked at the same target and said the same thing independently, so the diagnosis seems to hold up.

If you're heading to the range this weekend, I'd love 5-10 people to try it and tell me honestly if the feedback matches what you already know about your shooting - or where it misses. First analysis is free, no account needed.

Happy to share a link in the comments or DM if interested.

glock 19x or canik tp9?

hi! i’m soon to be a first time gun owner and i’m deciding between these two handguns. went to the shop yesterday to get them in my hands and they both felt super comfortable. i’m honestly leaning towards the canik but read online that it may have some jamming issues, but other then that it has great reviews as well as the glock. what’s better recommended for a first time gun owner whose never shot before?

I Found My New Favorite Handgun Lube

Gun Caffeine is pretty sweet. They sent me an early sample a little bit ago (Im friendly with the owner and we talk on Instagram occasionally) just to see what I thought. Its great. I mean lube is lube, it can only be so special, but this stuff not only runs great in everything I've put it in, and doesn't turn into vapor in the Deagle, it also smells exactly like a nice cup of coffee, which is something I didn't know I'd really enjoy in a gun lube of all things, but it's actually very nice. Go figure.
