This is a general awareness post. I travel Jetblue but this one is applicable for all of us: from my good friend this morning:
I will tell you that I just got back from a week of perfect weather in Paris! I tell you this because I had an experience on my flight to Paris that I never would have expected. This is a description of what happened from the report I filed.
1. Originally my daughter who was doing the booking had me booked in coach. Then two days prior to departure, she cancelled the coach booking and rebooked me in Premium Economy. (Record Locator EHGQXU/TKT no. 0012336843550) The seat was 9C.
2. Upon boarding there was a woman at the window seat 9A. I did follow the safety instructions and placed my purse under the seat in front of me. And I wore my small crossbody bag until we were in the air. I then placed it snug between my hip and the arm of the seat.
3. Mealtime started with a flight attendant bringing an ordered Special Meal to her.
4. Next the Flight Attendant returned with a Special Meal that I had not ordered. She asked if I had switched seats. I replied “No”. She then asked who (the name I do not remember.) was? The woman at the window pointed to the man sitting across the aisle from me. (As a former FA for Eastern Air Lines I knew the meals are attached to the seat numbers.) I wondered why the woman’s husband, who had originally been booked next to his wife had changed his seat to one across the aisle. Strange.
5. I never sleep well on airplanes. But I did doze off. At one point I felt like my blanket was moving at my feet. Then I felt something change at my hip where my crossbody bag was. I slowly roused. When I opened my eyes, the woman from the window seat was on her knees in front of me! I was in shock! The woman quickly got up and sat in her seat. My purse was unzipped and the strap was in the aisle. My crossbody was partially unzipped.
6. I picked it up and went to the Lav. My money and cards were still there. I thanked God.
7. The cabin was dark. Everyone was sleeping. I did not want to create a ruckus. I knew that everything I would say would be disputed and he would back her up. They are a team! He had earlier been going through a bag in the overhead bin on the left. But when he left, he pulled his bag from overhead on his side.
I wonder how many times these two have been successful.
