Looking into renting an e-bike, people's experiences for possible commute to work

Morning all!

Traffic sucks, and I'm debating the efficacy of an e-bike for my commute from Kanata into the core. I imagine at this point the drive in would be just as long as it would be if I were to bike.

Does anyone have much experience with using an e-bike to go from Kanata to downtown for work? Roughly how long of a trip is it? Are there places in Kanata one can rent an e-bike so I can give one a go to see if I have it in me to actually make the trip?

41 [M4R] Ontario, Canada - good weather is finally here! Looking to meet people and make friends

Evening all!

41M, dad to one with 50/50 access. Currently working for the government in an admin role, previously worked in IT fields primarily in customer success roles. Me for the curious:

Pretty big dork at times, and proudly watching my boy developing his own dorkish tendencies too! Enjoy reading sci Fi and fantasy, games of all types (board, tabletop, video), biking and kayaking in the nice weather. Slowly getting into pickleball... feels like the thing that dad's of a certain age do 🤣

Late in life diagnosis of ADHD. Nine times out of ten I'm doing well managing everything. That one time out of ten I loose all the spoons and have little to no capacity for much beyond dadding. Patience and understanding is greatly appreciated when those moments do come!

I'm not looking for anything in particular, really. I've met some great people on Reddit, would love to make more friends, find people to pal around with or geek out on things we enjoy. Local would be nice, but open to anywhere! Happy to see where the winds take things 🙂
