Is Abiotic Factor the sleeper hit of this generation?
I first played last year when the game launched and was free through PlayStation Plus. Knew nothing of the game, just really dug the art style of the game and the fact that it was a survival game was good enough for me. I didn't know what I was getting into. Before I knew it, I was trying to pull some friends in to play with me, which were apprehensive at first just because of the look of the game, but as soon as I told them you can do dumb shit like roll around in office chairs, they were in. We all played for a little while, I think we made it to Hydroplant, but then we all kinda started doing our own things, playing other games, just living separate lives. However, the game was always in the back of my mind. No matter how many other games I'd jump into, I'd always look at Abiotic Factor and think "I need to get back into that." and for about a year I kept doing that, until the past few weeks. When I'm at home and I'm not doing chores or watching something, I'm deep in Cascade somewhere, fighting for my life, and my god, I haven't been so immersed in a game in so, so long. Not even the same type of game, but I haven't been this taken by a game since Red Dead Redemption II released. I've been recommending this masterpiece (and I say that seriously, any complaint I may have had is usually fixed through updates, item upgrades, weapons, settings, etc. Seriously, full props to the dev team for their QOL improvements) to anyone and everyone that I can because it seems as though it has flown way under the radar, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I do love when something is niche, *but* I do hope the team at Deep Field Games one day get the recognition that they truly deserve because they have created something quite special.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I must locate a restroom...
Just curious, what would you consider the MOST brown record they've ever produced? (And what does being brown actually mean, I'll be honest, I asked while knowing very little about what it really means. Only that it's a feeling of sorts that some songs have more than others? Unless that last statement kinda means that I unknowingly feel what The Brown is, then in that case ignore this parenthesis and hail Boognish)
Tried to make the lookout sick, ended up getting caught, and BAM the leader runs right into me.
From the very year that I was born, and it wouldn't be until 29 long years later that I finally found and was truly able to appreciate the genius of this great, insanely talented band.
