Break in oxfords
Hi ! I’m new to the sub and new to docs! I’m planning on settling on a pair of oxfords for my wedding in June!
I purchased 1461 smooth leather Mono’s in women’s US size 7. However I may swamp them for the 1461 Buckingham leather oxfords.
I believe the 7s fit okay- I feel some room in the toe but the heel is noticeably tight, as is the top of the foot area. I know the break in for docs can be rough- my question about breaking in and stretching is if there’s a difference in the strength of the smooth leather vs the Buckingham leather. Is one easier to break in than the other? Should I size up or stay at a 7? Is the experience of breaking the shoe in significantly different with the different types of leather? And anything else I may need to know as a first-time doc wearer?! Thank you!
