From fed up to ThredUp

I finally did it last night…after being annoyed with the steady declines in Poshmark’s platform and policies, I and finally this “inactive listings” nonsense, I cleaned out my Posh closet. Some items I moved to other platforms, and others with less resale value are being sent away in a ThredUp bag. I am washing my hands of this service as a seller.

I hadn’t listed anything new in awhile after being screwed out of a sale by Poshmark approving a return for a fit issue, even though that’s explicitly not their policy. I was also screwed as a buyer by an incorrectly described item listing created by their garbage AI for lazy sellers (Posh sided with the seller even though the item I received was a different style and color than the photos). It was nice while it lasted as I made hundreds of sales of personal items, but I’m now relieved to be done with this platform and move on.

I get the sense that others are leaving in droves…how common is this experience? If you are a buyer also, will you stop making purchases through Posh?

I have a Ring Doorbell Cam (battery operated) that has been set up with end to end encryption for awhile. This week, I started getting error messages when trying to view video history, but I could still see the live view.

After following troubleshooting steps to correct the video history issue (including rebooting the device and a delete/reinstall of the Ring app), the app no longer recognizes my phone as a device permitted to view encrypted video. So I turned off encryption. And now my app won’t even show me the live camera view. This device is basically a brick for me now

All of this is really frustrating and time consuming to troubleshoot only to make issues worse. Was there some app update that broke e2e encryption recently? I guess I’m just going to have to do a full reset and reinstall when I get the time…
