What's our compatibility? :P
Been a while since I did this. Here's my profile.
I don't really listen to classic rock anymore. Sorry to disappoint.
Hi Western students,
I got into BMOS + Ivey AEO recently and I’m debating between it and McGill’s Desautels. I have a couple of questions:
- Is Calculus (MATH 1000) a prerequisite course, or is it an elective? I’ve heard conflicting accounts that Statistics and Vectors are alternate options for math, but I’m not sure if that’s true. Please let me know.
- Is BMOS competitive or more chill? I’m expected to maintain an 80+ average to keep my AEO status, and I’m wondering if that’s reasonably achievable.
- How are courses structured, and what courses are mandatory in first and second year?
- Is Western a major party school? I’ve heard conflicting opinions, but I’m an introvert who prefers to keep to myself. I’d like to make friends without feeling pressured to go to parties or step too far outside my comfort zone.
- How is the London music scene? I’m an avid music enthusiast and would love to attend concerts and do record thrifting. Also, does UWO have a student radio? I’d definitely be interested in joining and potentially becoming an executive in a club.
Thank you so much in advance! :D
I have had my Havanese since I was nine and we're nine and eighteen right now. He's my best friend, and ever since he was four (and I was thirteen), I've felt extreme, unbearable anticipatory grief toward him and worry for his health.
A year ago, when he was eight, our vet reported he needs six of his teeth extracted ASAP as they were wobbly/rotten (he also had tendon problems; couldn't walk for a bit, but that seems to have resolved).
My parents didn't take the vet seriously and refuse to take her seriously even today. I've been worried for the past year, especially since they initially decided to get him a follow-up appointment in January, and then delayed indefinitely, before claiming he's a dog and he'll be fine without dental hygiene. (They claim the surgery's too expensive, yada, yada...before blowing a lot of money on vacation).
I have no say financially in the household since I'm an unemployed teen but I'm fearing the worst, since my dog seems more lethargic recently and I noticed he's been drinking water excessively, which can signify that the bacteria spread to his kidneys and he's slowly dying...Also can feel his ribs/seems to have lost some weight.
sorry for the downer + long rant, but I genuinely feel so much distress and grief right now and I don't know how to cope. he's my best friend and I don't know how long he has left and how to make my parents take his health seriously. no, I don't have any other family or close friends to help fund for his surgeries, or even another follow-up to see if he's doing OK.
I don't know if I'm being overdramatic either (and went down a rabbit role from my own research) and he's actually OK despite having six+ rotting teeth for over a year that have not been extracted or treated. sorry.
Edit: I talked my parents and they shouted and me and called me an "ungrateful" and "overdramatic" child who is pulling problems from her ass to complain about.
My dad says the dog's a wild animal who doesn't deserve medical treatment 💀. I'd also like to mention I have very little financial autonomy in this household and I cannot drive, so no, bringing my dog to a "low-income" vet or humane society is not a solution.
