Lyumjev injection pain

I have recently begun taking this new fast acting insulin called Lyumjev. For a long time I was on Novolog due to allergic reactions at the injection site when using Humalog. My insurance refuses to cover Novolog, which is why I am now taking Lyumjev. A big concern I have is Lyumjev's formula is similar to Humalog. While I have not been having noticeable redness at the site of injection for Lyumjev, injection can be quite painful. I try to go slow, but it burns. The area is also quite sore for a few hours afterwards and honestly I'm surprised I don't have a massive bruise, because that is what it feels like. Is the formuka just that much thicker than Novolog? Has anyone else experienced this while taking Lyumjev?

Lyumjev injection pain

Hello, this is my first time posting here. I have had type one for 28 years now, diagnosed at 2 years old. Most of that time I have been using Novolog. I have an allergic reaction at my injection site when using Humalog, so that is not an option. Recently I got started on a new insurance with my job, and they refuse to cover Novolog. The only options they will cover are Humalog or this newer type of insulin called Lyumjev. My biggest concern with the Lyumjev is it has a similar formula to Humalog. I have been using it for a few days now, and while my skin isn't having a noticeable reaction at the injection site, I have noticed that injecting the insulin can be quite painful. Maybe it's a thicker formula? I try to go slow while injecting, but it will start burning, and the sight will be sore for a few hours after. I half expect to see a huge bruise afterwards, but there is no noticeable reaction, at least on my skin surface. Has anybody else who uses this insulin noticed this? I will be seeing my endocrinologist in a few weeks, but until then, I'm curious about what other users have experienced and if anyone has any advice.
