Hi everyone. I’m dealing with a lot of HIV anxiety and I’d like a realistic opinion.
Exposure date: March 22.
Exposure details:
I had vaginal sex with a condom. The condom did not break. It stayed on during the encounter, but at one point when I pulled out, the condom slipped/stayed inside the vagina. My penis came out, but it did not fully come out of the condom. The head of the penis and about one finger-length behind the head were still inside/covered by the condom. I pulled the condom back with my hand. There was no obvious condom tear or full unprotected sex.
Symptoms after exposure:
Around day 15–16, I had mild fatigue/malaise and body weakness. No fever. It lasted roughly about a day and improved after sleep. I vomited once around that time.
For the last couple of weeks, I’ve had mostly stomach/digestive symptoms:
Nausea, especially after eating
Bloating and fullness in my stomach
Lots of gas
Acid reflux / bitter or sour taste coming up into my mouth
Intermittent diarrhea, roughly every couple of days
Loss of appetite at times
Throat/mouth symptoms:
No real sore throat
No trouble swallowing
No fever
No rash
No swollen armpit lymph nodes
One tonsil/right side feels a little enlarged or noticeable, but it is not painful
No white pus on the tonsils
Some redness and small bumps at the back of my throat, like “cobblestone throat”
I also have a coated/whitish tongue, but I think I’ve had that for years
I sometimes feel the tonsil/throat area when drinking water, but it is not painful
Other symptoms:
Nasal congestion
Sneezing, especially at night
Symptoms seem worse when I go outside
Morning throat/tonsil feeling is more noticeable
Ear fullness since a flight
Drooling on the pillow during sleep, but that has been happening for about 1–1.5 months
Sometimes headache from the back of my neck to behind one eye
I know symptoms cannot diagnose HIV and testing is the only way to know. But based only on this exposure and symptom pattern, does this sound like acute HIV, or more like anxiety/reflux/allergy/post-nasal drip/normal throat irritation?
Please be honest and realistic. What would you estimate the risk to be?

Hi everyone,
I’m a Turkish citizen planning to apply for a short-stay Czech Schengen tourist visa for a 6-night / 7-day tourism trip to Prague.

My situation:

I will travel from Istanbul to Prague and stay only in Prague. My girlfriend is a U.S. citizen and will travel from the United States to Prague. We will meet there, stay in Prague for tourism/sightseeing, and then travel together from Prague to Istanbul. After that, she will later return to the U.S., and I will remain in Turkey.

I am not applying for a long-stay visa, residence permit, digital nomad visa, or anything like that. This is only a short tourist trip.

My profile:

- Turkish citizen
- Applying from Turkey
- Planned trip: 6 nights / 7 days in Prague
- Purpose: tourism and meeting my U.S. citizen girlfriend in Prague
- Route: Istanbul → Prague → Istanbul
- Accommodation: hotel reservation in Prague
- Travel insurance: Schengen-compliant
- Previous travel history: Serbia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Serbia again in 2026, all with timely returns

My financial situation:

I am not currently employed by a company and I do not have an active business at the moment. My trip will be funded by my own personal funds plus family support from my mother.

My mother is retired and is sponsoring/supporting my trip if needed. I will include:

- My personal bank statements
- My mother’s sponsorship letter
- My mother’s bank statements
- Her retirement income document
- Her residence document
- Proof of relationship through civil registry/family record
- Her ID copy

There is one thing I want to be transparent about: my mother withdrew USD cash from her own bank account, and I later deposited part of that amount into my own bank account for the trip. I will not present this as salary or freelance income. I will explain it honestly as family support.

For that, I will include:

- My mother’s USD withdrawal receipt
- My own cash deposit receipt
- A “Cash Funding Explanation Note”
- A “Financial Explanation Note”
- Her sponsorship letter and bank documents

My application file includes:

- Schengen visa application form
- Czech visa questionnaire
- Passport and copies
- ID copy
- Full civil registry record
- Residence certificate
- Flight reservations: Istanbul → Prague and Prague → Istanbul
- Hotel reservation
- Travel insurance
- Daily Prague itinerary
- Cover letter
- Financial explanation note
- Cash funding explanation note
- Mother’s sponsorship letter and financial documents
- Girlfriend’s U.S. passport copy
- Girlfriend’s flights: U.S. → Prague, Prague → Istanbul, Istanbul → U.S.
- Travel companion explanation letter
- Travel history table and passport stamp copies

The main point of my application is:

I am going to Prague for a short tourism trip, meeting my U.S. citizen girlfriend there, leaving Schengen at the end of the trip, and returning to Turkey. My expenses are covered by my personal funds and documented family support.

My concern is that I am not currently employed and my finances include family support/cash deposit, although everything will be explained and documented clearly.

Do you think this is a reasonably strong Czech Schengen tourist visa file? Is there anything I should remove, add, or explain differently?

Thanks in advance.
