People who are receiving multiple entry multi month visa! How?

Just received my 2nd Schengen visa in two years.

First one from Italy last year, 18 days single entry.

This year from Spain, 20 days single entry again. I been hearing about how if you apply multiple times, you get longer duration(?) Is that true ? Then how do unlock that ?

2 year multi entry schengen in 4th attempt!

Hi Everyone,

I was finally able to get a 2 year multi entry / 90 days Schengen. So glad that I get to skip the goddamn visa process atleast for the next 2 years. I'm a 32 year old single Indian male for context.

Previous visas include Netherlands, Spain and France. In all of these applications I had selected multi entry in my application forms but was granted a single entry / 30 days visa each time.

Applied to Netherlands again in my 4th attempt requesting specifically for multi entry and put a note around consideration for long term visa in my cover letter so that seems to have worked.

In the past applications the travel agents advised against requesting long term specifically / or mentioning anything about the cascade scheme but i went against that and requested for a long term visa this time. It does seem that the visa officers are paying attention to your cover letter.

Applying visa for family members EU citizens

My father has a residency in Italy, but he is part of an italian household because his residency is type familiare cittadino italiano meaning he got his residency from his eu citizen mother. Now although he is not an eu citizen yet, my research says that he is given the same rights as a citizen. Would it be possible that when I apply for a Visa I will choose the option of family members of eu citizens?

I would like to choose this so i dont have to pay visa fees and we dont have to provide a nulla osta

URGENT: French VISA taking too long

I had applied for a French VISA from VFS Calcutta on 13th April. Now while I understand there is a 15 working days window, I still was hopeful to get my VISA by this week (based on my previous experience). However, I have no updates except the application is "Under Processing" at the Embassy.

The French embassy in calcutta has been unreachable. I have been emailing them everyday, the conference folks have been doing the same, but nobody seems to be getting a response.

I tried calling them, the number seems to be dead. Is there anything I can do apart from waiting? This anxiety is making me sick and now I have a fever and a knot in my stomach. Is there literally anything I can do?

Got asked for an NOC from Husband by Italy Consulate !

I am a married and employed woman from India who was planning to travel solo to Italy for a week before my 30th birthday. I have had 2 Schengen visas approved before, so I was not worried when I was applying for my third, this time via Italy. I had read lots of reddit posts on how it can get delayed, so applied well in advance. But as 1 month since document submission passed I started getting antsy and kept calling vfs and emailing consulate to follow up.

One fine day I get a call from the consulate asking for some additional documents (I was relieved at this point because this meant my candidature was still in consideration). The guy said to share Salary account statements (I have a dormant salary account from which I transfer money immediately after pay-day to my main account whose 6 months statement I had already submitted.)I explained that I did this so you can see proof of funds, I shared the account that has maximum funds, you can see every payday there is credit of salary from another account; he insisted I also share the other account which was totally doable to I said, yeah sure!

Then he asked so I see your spouse name on your passport, why is he not travelling with you? I was taken aback! went on to explain that it is sort of a girls trip, I have some friends in Italy, I will meet up with them and travel. Mind you, I have submitted a cover letter, employer NOC, leave sanction letter, 3 month payslips, everything one would need to establish my credibility of being able to self sponsor this trip. The visa officer went ahead and asked while you are submitting your new account statement and an extra month of latest payslip can you also share an NOC from your HUSBAND!!?? I laughed, because surely he was joking. HE WAS NOT! he said oh, we just want to confirm your husband is aware of your trip and your intention to return.

Has this happened to anyyybodyyy ever? I am totally shook. I got the visa 2 days after I submitted the additional documents (yes, a signed letter from my husband consenting to my trip), and had a really nice time in Italy but this little anecdote has stayed with me.

Is this normal? Would a married man had been asked for his wife's NOC? weird weird weird, unfair and weird..

Zurich airport EES lines for connecting flight

I am flying into Zurich next Saturday for an hour and 15 minute layover from the US. I understand the new EES system has been implemented and that we should expect longer wait times for immigration but I am getting increasingly worried that I will miss my connecting flight to Rome FCO. Has anyone been through the EES system in Zurich since the recent launch on April 10 that can give me some insight? I don’t believe there is anything I can do to make the process easier but if so, please let me know. I have been planning this trip for years and would really be disappointed if I lost a day due to a disorganized process that I could have avoided. Any and all answers will help!!! Thanks in advance.

Has anyone worked with a visa agent?

My husband and I (living in the UK but not UK citizens) have been trying to get secure an appointment to get our visitors visa for Greece. However, we haven’t found anything. We tried emailing the visa centre, but they aren’t helpful.

We are now thinking of using an agency to help us with securing an appointment. But we aren’t sure if those are worth the money.

Has anyone used agents? Are they worth it?

Should I apply for a Schengen visa for each country or only one?

Hi everyone, currently I am planning on going on multiple trips and I was trying to figure out which country should I apply for.

Holiday 1 - July - 3 days - Greece

Holiday 2 - August - 3 days - Spain

Holiday 3 - September - 4 days - France

Is this considered a multi trip? If it is should I apply for France as that is the country I am going to for the longest, or do I need to apply for each one at a time? Thanks!

Schengen visa approved [Romania]

Background

  • Indonesian biometric passport
  • Full time employee
  • Brand new passport, little to no travel history
  • Applied independently (no agent)
  • Sponsored by my Romanian SO (financial support + accommodation; we disclosed our relationship in our letters)

Trip details

  • Dates: 30 April - 31 May
  • Purpose: Visit
  • Destinations: Romania (main, entry + exit), Italy (short trip)

Documents I prepared

Mine (Applicant)

  • Copy of ID*
  • Copy of passport*
  • Signed cover letter (1 page)*
  • Copy of Indonesian family card*
  • Fully paid return flights*
  • Zurich travel insurance*
  • Travel itinerary
  • Personal savings bank statements (6 months, stamped & signed)*
  • Payroll bank statements (6 months, stamped & signed)
  • Certificate of employment (recent, signed + company seal + letterhead)*
  • Latest 3 years ITR slips
  • Employment agreement
  • Hotel bookings (Romania & Italy)
  • Photos of me and my SO throughout our relationship

SO (Sponsor)

  • Original IGI invitation letter*
  • Personal sponsorship letter (1 page)
  • Bank statements (3 months)*
  • Copy of ID*

*Physical documents marked with [*] were kept by the embassy.

After my appointment, I actually had quite a few documents returned. For example, they only kept the most recent bank statement and didn’t take the older ones. They also told me to keep the original IGI invitation letter and bring it when I travel, the embassy only keeps a copy.

Timeline

  • Jan 14: SO applied for IGI invitation letter
  • Feb 24: Invitation letter issued
  • Mar 10: Submitted application online (to Romanian Embassy, Jakarta)
  • Mar 23: Application forwarded to Romanian Embassy in Bangkok
  • Mar 24: Status updated to “validated” → appointment booking opened (earliest: Apr 15) → emailed for an earlier slot
  • Mar 26: Embassy confirmed earlier appointment (Apr 2)
  • Apr 2: Submitted documents + brief interview + biometrics + payment
  • Apr 20: Visa issued - staff placed the sticker with a smile and said “have a nice holiday”...I blushed

Note: As an Indonesian applicant, the embassy in Bangkok did not keep my passport, so I returned to Indonesia after each visit.

I got a single entry Schengen visa, valid from 30 April 2026 to 15 June 2026.

Is it worth cancelling visa appointment for an earlier one of available ?

Hi, I hope you're all good x

So I've just applied for my Schengen Visa to Spain - it's my first time. I got an appointment for 15th May and I'm meant to be travelling on the 10th of June.

I booked a normal appointment and completely forgot to check for premium. I'm checking again and it's showing me earlier appointments for premium and I am wondering if it's worth cancelling my original appt to get an earlier date ? Because 15th May is so close to the travel time.

I've applied in Manchester which someone told me has longer processing time too.

Has anyone recently applied who could advise me please, I'm really nervous at the moment not sure what to do.

Thank you in advance x

got an appointment way later than I expected so my health insurance starts before the appointment- is it a problem?

im applying for a romanian long stay visa as my spouse is romanian, I applied at the beginning of April and set my medical insurance to start on 20 April and end 90 days from then, and also on the visa applied for it to start on April 20th, but they did not give me an appointment until April 27th, thus I am worried that they will have a problem with my insurance since it does not last 90 days from April 27th- should i be concerned? i cant find anything about this online ;-;

Denmark Schengen without flight bookings?

Hi,

I have an Indian passport, applying from VFS London for Denmark. I applied for a visit friends & family visa, for two weeks, requesting multi entry since I intend to visit again later. In the VFS checklist it explicitly said don't book tickets until visa is issued, sufficient bank balance is enough. Hence I applied without flight booking, and since I'm staying with a friend, without hotel booking either. Now I'm worried that the complete lack of bookings would seem suspicious to them - could anyone share their stories of similar circumstances? Any anecdotes are welcome.

I have a strong income, and showed ~3k gbp bank balance. I have a previous Schengen from NL as well. These factors should help my case but I'm worried the lack of bookings could be a problem, the VFS staff said people submit bookings anyway.

Thanks!

Schengen Visa application approval chances/Application strength?

I am a government officer(IAS) in India. I am planning an international trip in next 4-5 months and confused between an European country(maybe Italy or Spain), Japan or some South East Asia Country. I have done only 1 international trip till now of a SEA country.
Being a government employee I don't have very high salary(ITR) or great assest, and also lack of previous visa to countries like European countries/USA/Japan etc.
So my question is, are there decent or strong chances of my visa getting approved or not? I don't want to go through all the hustle just to get rejected, rather I would put my effort to a more Indian passport friendly country. Plus I will get NOC with much difficulty, so don't want to waste my NOC if Visa is going to get rejected( I will have to reapply for NOC )
Guide me.

National D work visa Greece

I applied for a national D visa on the 2nd of April in London at GVCW. I just wondered what other people’s experiences were like with this and how long the process took for them, my flight date has passed so I am worried they will disregard my application.
