Recurring issue with a PC listing — Advertised as touchscreen but isn't. Bought twice, same error. Need advice.
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice on how to handle a recurring issue with a purchase.
About a month ago, I bought a PC that was advertised as having a touchscreen. When it arrived, it didn’t have that feature. I contacted support, and they gave me a 25% partial refund to keep the unit, which I accepted.
Thinking the first one was just a one-time error or a fluke, I decided to buy the same PC again. Unfortunately, the second unit just arrived and it has the exact same problem: no touchscreen. It’s clear now that the listing is completely misleading and the error is systemic.
Since this is the second time I’ve been misled by the same listing, I don’t want to settle for the same 25% refund again. I want to keep the PC, but I feel that a much higher compensation is fair given the repeated mistake after I already alerted them the first time.
Has anyone dealt with a recurring issue like this where the seller ignores a previous warning about a product's specs? Is it possible to get a higher partial refund/compensation without returning the item?
I’d love to hear if anyone has successfully negotiated a better solution in a similar situation. Thanks!
