Hi there!

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis on ultrasound when investigating the size of my 9cm fibroid. I was honestly quite shocked by this, I have a copper IUD and I do have pretty intense period cramps day 1 and 2 of my period but they are not heavy at all. I also notice more frequent bowel movements on my period but was told that’s normal from uterus contracting (sometimes it’s diarrhea). But other than that i didn’t really have any of the classic symptoms like heavy bleeding, pain with sex etc. i have back pain during my periods but it could be due to the fibroid as it’s located on the back wall of my uterus. Has anyone here not had the classic heavy bleeding symptoms?

I’ve read if you have adenomyosis you likely have endo and I’m honestly just terrified. I already have to have surgery to remove the fibroid and my surgeon said when we get in there he can confirm everything.

I’m so upset and all I want in life is kids. I have started an anti-inflammatory diet and I’m also on supplements like fish oil, NAC, Vit D, ECGC, inositol, magnesium, ashwaghanda, zinc, DIIM, resveratol.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi all.

TMI for my ladies out there. I have a 10cm fibroid and wanting to get it removed. Wondering if anyone has had a myomectomy before and any surgeons you recommend?

I got referred to someone named Wilson Ventura Chan but unsure if I will proceed given long wait times. If you have dealt with him also please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice/experiences while I wait for fibroid surgery.

I have a 9.7 cm intramural/subserosal posterior fibroid (found incidentally last year). My main symptom is painful periods, but I was also recently diagnosed with adenomyosis, so that may be contributing. I also have mild PCOS, which is mostly under control.

I’m in Canada and moving forward with surgery (likely this fall). My upcoming appointment will determine whether I’m a candidate for laparoscopic vs. open myomectomy.

My OB strongly recommends Lupron to shrink the fibroid so we can try laparoscopy, but I’ve decided to avoid it due to potential side effects—especially since I have a big summer coming up (engagement + Europe trip).

In the meantime, my goal is to halt growth and ideally shrink the fibroid even slightly before surgery.

I’ve been told I have mild insulin resistance and estrogen dominance, so I’m focusing on that and currently taking:

B12 (deficient)

Iron (Ferrapro)

DIM

Omega-3

Inositol

Saffron

Zinc (I have a copper IUD)

Magnesium glycinate

Ashwagandha (for high cortisol)

Vitamin D (with K2/K3)

I’m also doing acupuncture twice a month. My naturopath suggested serrapeptase, but I’ve read it may have blood-thinning effects, so I’m unsure—especially with surgery coming up.

Has anyone:

- Been able to stabilize or slow fibroid growth before surgery?

- Had any success (even small) with shrinking naturally?

- Avoided Lupron and still qualified for laparoscopic surgery?

- Tried serrapeptase and had any noticeable effect?

I know significant shrinkage may not be realistic at this size but I’m trying to do what I can to not take Lupron.
