Played some football game

Didn’t realize how much I actually missed doing random stuff with people until recently

Started joining football games during the week and now somehow I know people from all over the world just because we kick a ball around for an hour every few days lol

Funny how making friends as an adult kinda works. Nobody is even trying to make friends it just… happens I guess

Casual football after work just hits differently

One of my favorite things about football is that nobody really cares who you are once the game starts.

You can have locals, expats, beginners, people who haven’t played in years, and somehow after five minutes everyone’s yelling for passes like they’ve known each other forever.

Also love how small-sided games are basically controlled chaos. One minute someone scores a worldie, next minute everyone’s dying on the sidelines pretending they’re still fit.

Honestly one of the best moods you can have after work.

Anyone else here randomly get way too happy over midweek football?

Feels like every coffee spot I see lately is just influencer content or aesthetic cafés.

Curious where people actually go for good coffee in Bangkok, whether it’s a quick grab or somewhere to sit for a while.

Looking for places that are actually worth it, not just for photos.

Any suggestions?

Bali has a weird pattern where you meet a lot of people… but somehow nothing really sticks.

Everyone’s just passing through, plans change every week, and it feels like you’re always restarting socially.

One thing that’s been surprisingly different for me is playing small-sided football during the week. Not in a serious way, just casual games where people show up regularly.

It’s one of the only things where you actually start seeing the same faces again and again. No big planning, no pressure, just something that quietly becomes part of your week.

Kind of made me realize how rare that is here.

What are people doing in Bali that actually feels consistent?

Been trying to meet new people in Bangkok without the whole “bar scene” thing and honestly it’s harder than I expected.

Recently started joining casual football games during the week and it’s surprisingly one of the easiest ways to connect. No pressure, just show up, play, chat a bit after.

What I didn’t expect is how quickly it becomes a routine. You see the same faces, skill levels are mixed, and it doesn’t feel like one of those overly competitive leagues.

Curious if anyone else has found good ways to meet people here that aren’t networking events or nightlife?

Trying to fix my weekly routine a bit — less random nights out, more consistent activities.

One thing that’s been working: joining casual football games a couple times a week. It’s structured enough that I actually show up, but chill enough that it doesn’t feel like a commitment.

Also weirdly helps with energy levels and sleep.

Anyone else found activities in Bangkok that are easy to stick to long-term? Not looking for hardcore gym stuff, more like something social + active.
