I read a dentistry guideline from another country that said regular polishing is not recommended as it can remove a thin layer of the tooth. I was surprised.

Where I live a dental checkup every 6 months, which includes scaling and polishing, is standard. Now I'm worried that my tooth enamel is in really bad shape.

I feel like my teeth look thinner and more translucent and also yellower. Does that mean the outer layer has been damaged and nothing (e.g. toothpastes for remineralisation) can help?

Unfortunately, growing up I was always made to brush my teeth immediately after each meal so that habit also probably ruined the enamel. I now always wait at least 30 minutes before brushing, but it's probably too late!

(I also read that scaling isn't normal - it's deep cleaning if you have gum disease, which I do not. Don't know why I always receive scaling at my appointments.).

Where should I visit in Canada if I want to be surrounded by the scent of lilacs in spring?

I know cherry blossoms are very popular, but I love lilacs for their scent :)
