If money were no object, what would your first car have been instead of whatever you had?

My first car was a 1982 buick regal sedan. The only reason I had that junker is because my parents had no money to give me for a car and I had to save up as much as I could ($800) before my 15th birthday so I could get a car to learn how to drive with. I got that one for 600 bucks and it needed transmission work.

However, if I had been given money or just had a massive amount of money for some reason, I would have certainly gotten a 96 impala ss instead of what I actually got. What cars would you guys have had if you could have gotten whatever you wanted as your first car?

Delta 9 THC gummies do next to nothing and it makes me mad

Tgis week is my last week working at my job so I figured what the hell, ill be high for it. I ran out of real THC gummies last week, and the dispensary didnt restock yet, so I had to get 10mg double dose THC gummies from the liquor store derived from hemp. I have already taken 4 since 6 this morning and all I feel is a little tired. This is crazy awful for $24 a pack for only 5 gummies. I get higher off of a joint of dispensary bud and that barely even affects me. This turbo sucks.

I think i just walked out with my groceries and didnt pay, yikes

Just now, like 15 minutes ago, i Smoked a joint, thought it sounded fun to get groceries. Did my shopping, bagged it at the self checkout, walked it out to my car, and left. Got home, smoked another joint, went inside and started sorting my groceries. Only then did I realize I have 0 memory of paying and never took my wallet out or put in my PIN on the kiosk. I had to have around $60 of groceries. I think i must have forgot i had to pay, bagged my shit, and walked right out. There are cameras ALL OVER in this grocery store, and I was one of the last people there before it closed 5 minutes later. And I worked there 10 years ago.

I am worried about what will happen now. Will they call the cops right away? Are they coming for me now do you think? Or will I get pulled over and arrested the next time I go to drive somewhere? I had errands tomorrow... I know i need to go back and make it right, but theyre closed now and arent opem Sundays. It'll have to be Monday but I need to run errands tomorrow and I dont want to get pulled over and deal with arrest and all that nonsense.

My current road trip vehicle is falling apart and at the point where its not going to be safe to drive very much longer, so I need to replace it this summer. The dilemma i have run into however, is that I am struggling to decide if I should buy a car that fits my needs, or if I should go against what is practical to get a less practical, more desirable car.

Here's the deal: my partner and I do lots of travel. I own a separate car from my 2 daily drivers that I specifically have for taking long trips. The boxes that need to be checked for a car like this are ; spacious interior and trunk, smooth ride, comfortable seats, good fuel range, and reliable engine and transmission. What i have currently checks all these boxes and makes the perfect choice for road trips. I also have a very expensive sound system set up in my current car.

I have already decided that what I should get, is another car exactly like this one, or one of the sister cars from one of the sibling brands. That way I already know it checks all the above boxes, and I can just swap my sound system over without needing to change anything up.

However, I am also finding myself very tempted to get a smaller, sportier car that I would get more enjoyment out of than the full size sedan I am looking at to replace the one I have. It would still be able to make those trips I make, but I would be sacrificing the good ride quality, possibly comfortable seating, and most importantly, space. In a mid size coupe, where will I put all our suitcases and totes when we travel? The backseat will be too small to offer useful additional storage, and the trunk will be taken up mostly by the spare tire, leaving room for just one small suitcase. The car im looking at for this also happens to be known to have transmission and engine issues as a very common problem. So reliability will be in question as well as lack of space.

I know what I *should* buy, but I am finding it increasingly harder to resist buying the car i want more, and then just dealing with the fallout of lack of space and reliability when I get there. What would you do? Should I stick with the original plan and get what fits my needs, or should I treat myself and get something cooler, despite knowing it isnt the smartest choice for my current situation?

Even collectors who appreciate some of the cars from the 70s and 80s will rag on the simulated wood dash bezels in the old cars. I dont get it. Yeah, its plastic not real wood, but so what? Its a staple of american luxury at its peak, and personally I think it fits the cars quite well. I dont know why people make fun of it so much. In my opinion, plain black or silver is worse looking than fake wood. At least wood gives the interior some variation. There are much worse interior design points to make fun of instead of simulated wood, especially when the wood adds to the character of the car.

On my way home just now, I watched an older Kia tailgate an f150 in front of me, for nearly 10 miles straight (this is a 2 lane road, 1 lane in each direction, rural 60mph zone with lots of hills and bluffs). He kept swerving around in his lane like he was waiting for an opening to pass, but never took it. Meanwhile, I just had to sit and watch this idiocy, because there was no way I could see around 2 cars while going up a steep hill enough to be confident i could pass them before the next car came over the hill, so I just had to sit there doing 10 under the limit because this guy couldn't make up his mind and pass.

Well, it came to a point where the truck was slowing down to take a left turn onto another road, and here's the kicker - there is a BYPASS LANE on the right hand side of the road that is SPECIFICALLY put there to allow traffic going straight to keep up thier speed and pass the left turning traffic on the shoulder using the bypass lane. Its what its there for. This idiot in the Kia *slows down* with the left turning truck instead of taking the bypass lane! Wtf! After all that swerving and tailgating, you get the perfect window to pass and you choose to slow down to a halt with this truck for no reason??

I figured hey, if youre not gonna use it, I will, so I got in the bypass, punched it to get my point across, and flew past both those morons like a missile. Before I knew it i was doing 80 and the Kia was just a spec in my rear view. Whatever was wrong with that guy, I hope he realized how stupid he was for not using that lane and wont make the same mistake next time.

See, I can appreciate a nice car or restored car or whatever, but im not really a *car guy* per se, I just getvlumped in with them because of my unusual tastes. For example, the reason I go to car shows, is to see if there are any cars in there that I might be considering buying in the future - and since 100% of the cars on my wishlist are no longer sold at dealerships, I cant just book an appointment to take a look at one any time, now can I?

So ill use car shows as a way to look at the interior and exterior of a car im interested in, talk to the owner if possible and ask my questions. That way nect time I see one for sale, I know for sure if im gonna like the carr after I buy it. Idk if im the only one who does this, or if its common, or what, I was just curious if im weird for doing it or not I guess.

This is a super unpopular opinion here, but I am in love with lean burn equipped engines. Many (most) people say its junk and belongs in the trash, but personally, ive had 3 lean burn cars, and every single one ive had only good things to say about them. They start every time like fuel injection, even when its below 0° out. They get great fuel economy despite not being offered with overdrive transmissions. Yeah, they starve the engine of power, but most of the cars that came with this system werent meant to go fast anyway.

People report bogging, hesitation, and stalling with lean burn, but ive never experienced any of that. The 318 in my 78 cordoba has proved more reliable than the fuel injected 302 in my lincoln town car time and time again. 1 pump to the gas and 2 cranks and it cracks right off, and it wont die if you kick the choke off right away either. The best part? I get 20-22mpg consistently with this car. Last week, I somehow squeezed *28mpg* out of it. 28 miles a gallon! In a fairly heavy car with a carbureted v8. Can you believe that? Thats better than most modern cars of the same size and weight with much smaller and more efficient engines.

The only complaint i have about the system is how low it makes the engine power. This thing is a slug. Over 15 seconds to get to 60 and even when I downshift to pass someone, it takes several seconds to get to 70 from 60. It makes aggressive driving nearly impossible. But thats not really a huge deal anyway, this is a daily driver, I dont need it to be a race car to get me to work and back.

In short, I dont know why people say they hate lean burn. Im beginning to think its just people who dont know how to properly operate them and/or repair them, and people who just dont understand them so they dont even try to give them a chance. After all, who in thier right mind would argue against better fuel economy and more reliability?
