Soldiers In Postmen's Uniforms

Soldiers In Postmen's Uniforms

First real game, wow what a tough nut so far. Just barely survived the first of 3 assaults, and it came down to a single die roll of 5+ to take out the last leader. Assualt 2 is gonna be rough....

What is the appeal of game unboxing videos?

The algo suggested I watch a video about a Gettysburg game. But it was just a host spending 25 minutes showing the components. No review, no description of game mechanics etc. Just "and here's the Confederate reference sheet" while holding said sheet for the camera.

I can see all this on the publisher's web site. So, what's the appeal? Do you watch these?

Cheap & Easy DIY Flight Stands

I have never really found a commercial flight stand I liked. I had an idea in my head that what I wanted was a little washer with a protruding little tube. I could glue one to a flier and another to a washer or acrylic base. Then I would use an acrylic rod in between.

It turns out the little washer things is called a Compression Bushing. All that remained was to find a size that would accommodate a 1/8" (3mm) acrylic rod. I found an assortment on Amazon and the 5/16" variety are perfect.

DIY Travel Versions - Just Me?

I've seen a few requests for good travel games - compact, play in a relatively small area. Thought I'd share my DIY travel versions of Commands & Colors. I've done the Crusades and Samurai boxes. Each block rotates so you only need 1 block per unit. Small board and mini cards and you can play in a pretty small space. It's my goto for solo travel play, occasionally I play an opponent if I happen upon one.

With the closing of Fighting15s to a well deserved retirement, I still have modest stocks of the 15mm ranges. I have marked these down 30% to help speed them along to new homes. Obviously quantities are limited and first come first served.

The web site now shows the new clearance prices.

Last night I ran a 6 player Dragon Rampant game. The table is 6x8. The goal was to get as many of your units on or close to the great temple. Full strength units were worth more than half strength. Eliminating another player's unit was also worth points. Craters and bugs appeared randomly throughout the game and were worth no points, but they could eff you up pretty bad. Each army was 24 points.

It was an eventual 1 point victory by the Elves/Hobbits.
