Unpopular opinion - the 1830s was the best decade of 19th century fashion

The corsets were reasonable, and the skirts typically cleared the ground. The look was feminine, fun, a bit ridiculous. The dresses were made to resemble butterflies as did the bonnets. The hairstyles and sleeves were wild and extravagant. The fabrics and prints are light and pretty and dainty as well. I think the crinoline and bustle eras are more popular, but the dresses are substantially less wearable and much heavier, and in the case of crinoline dresses, a lot less safe

I work in a male dominated industry. My coworkers all like me and are honestly really good to me. I make friends easily with both men and women. I’m warm and friendly and tend to do well enough socially. The thing is I barely get any attention from men. I will occasionally get asked out on the street, but never anything serious.

My mom says I’m “unfriendly” to men I don’t know, but I don’t see it because I try to be polite to everyone and no man has ever told me I’m mean or rude. I actually asked my guy friends this once and they said I never came across that way.

I don’t talk to my mom anymore but this still really bugs me. She always accused me of being cold, weird, and unfeminine. But I don’t see it. What could I be doing wrong?
