I love my bird so much. I’ve had him for four years, and I got him as a gift when I was younger. But I want to be a nurse, and of course that requires college. I honestly don’t know if he will be happy or healthy with my parents taking care of him (they would never let him out of the cage). Not to mention, once I graduate and become a nurse, I’m not sure if I’ll have enough time to give him the life he deserves. On the other hand, I know birds usually bond with one person, and there’s a chance that I won’t be working crazy hours in the future (meaning not at a hospital). It makes me sad to think about, and I feel guilty. Any advice?

Also if theres any way people know for me to possibly keep him while doing college and being a nurse please let me know!!

I struggled with my mental health during my first two years of high school due to legal issues related to my dad’s custody of me, as well as court-ordered therapy and other stressors. All of this ended up hurting my grades and affecting my future. I’m doing much better now, and I want to become a nurse. I was thinking about getting my associate’s degree in nursing from a community college, but even that is incredibly competitive. Is there anything I can do to improve my chances of getting in?
