Finally landed an internship after looking for months

Honestly didn't think it was going to happen.

The thing that changed it wasn't my resume or my skills — I just got way more organized. Started keeping track of every application, every follow-up, who I emailed and when. Before that I was just sending stuff into the void and forgetting about it a week later.

Cold emailing also felt pointless to me at first but it ended up being how I got most of my responses. Took a lot of trial and error to figure out what to actually say.

Still can't believe it worked. Anyone else in the middle of recruiting right now?

Switched to a miswak bristle toothbrush 6 months ago — wasn't expecting to like it this much

Been meaning to post about this for a while. I switched from a regular plastic toothbrush to one made with actual miswak tree bristles (Salvadora persica) and a bamboo handle about 6 months ago and genuinely haven't looked back.

The main things I noticed — you don't need toothpaste, the bamboo handle is fully biodegradable, and my teeth honestly feel cleaner than they did before. Miswak has been used for oral hygiene for centuries so it's not some new gimmick, just took a while to become widely available in a convenient form.

The reason I never tried miswak before was the inconvenience of the raw stick — peeling it, keeping it fresh, constantly replacing it. This version removes all of that.

Anyone else made the switch or tried anything similar?

Finally found a way to actually be consistent with miswak

Salaam all. Growing up I always used the basic plastic Colgate toothbrushes, non-biodegradable and not exactly following the sunnah either. I always wanted to be consistent with miswak but honestly found it inconvenient. Peeling it, constantly buying new ones, and just the general adjustment made it hard to stick with.

Recently I found a toothbrush that uses actual miswak tree bristles (Salvadora persica) with a bamboo handle so it's biodegradable. No toothpaste needed either. Been using it about 6 months and it's genuinely become one of my favorite purchases. If anyone is interested I can send the link.

Anyone else been trying to incorporate miswak into their routine?
